Navy All-American midfielder Greyson Torain (Sr / Glen Burnie, Md.) was one of 24 players selected in the Premier Lacrosse League's inaugural collegiate draft early Wednesday morning. Torain, who was taken in the third round and was the 18th overall selection, will be reunited with former teammate and All-American long pole Matt Rees as members of the Chaos Lacrosse Club.

Torain was also drafted by the Chesapeake Bayhawks on March 9 in the 2019 Major League Lacrosse collegiate draft. He was the 16th pick overall and the third selection by the Chesapeake Bayhawks.

A starter in all 56 games during his collegiate career, Torain has etched his name into the Navy record books as one of the premiere players in program history. The two-time First-Team All-Patriot selection is one of 34 players in school history to reach 100 points and currently stands 18th on the list with 128 points (82G, 46A). Meanwhile, he is among just nine midfielders in Navy history to reach 100 points and stands third among his position in scoring all-time. Ranked 13th in Navy history with 82 goals, he is just two assists shy of becoming one of just 10 players in school history to ranked among the top 20 in points, goals AND assists.

Torain is one of just seven midfielders in Navy's storied 112-year history to produce multiple 30-plus point scoring seasons, joining classmate Ryan Wade (2018-19), along with Graham Gill (2004-05), Jamie Slough (1992-93-94), Brian Keith (1989-90), Glen Miles (1984-86) and Mike Chanenchuk (1977-78-79). A year ago, Torain (19-14=33) and Ryan Wade (9-24=33) teamed up to become the first midfield tandem in program history to post 30 points apiece, while the dynamic duo has accomplished it again this spring with Wade posting 44 points (18-26) and Torain with 33 (23-10).

Torain was one of three Patriot League players selected in the PLL draft, joining Loyola's Pat Spencer, who was the No. 1 pick and Army's Johnny Surdick. Torain and Surdick, who grew up together and graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md., will play on the same team once again, as the Chaos LC also drafted Surdick.

Navy and Torain close out the regular season on Friday when they play host to 16th-ranked Boston University at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Faceoff is set for 4:00 pm.
