Navy Long Snapper Michael Pifer on the Watch List for the Mannelly Award

Pifer is one of 25 players on the watch list for the first Mannelly Award, which will be awarded to the nation’s top senior long snapper.

Navy senior long snapper Michael Pifer is one of 25 players on the watch list for the first Mannelly Award, which will be awarded to the nation's top senior long snapper. Houston's Nick Wildberger is the only other player from the American Athletic Conference to make the list.

The Mannelly Award, named after NFL long snapper Patrick Mannelly, will be presented in Chicago, Illinois on the same day as the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA (Dec. 14) to the best FBS senior long snapper.

Ten semi-finalists will be announced on November 16 and the three finalists on November 23.

Pifer was Navy's long snapper for all 13 games last year.
