Setting the Stage
•   Navy and No. 22 Tulsa meet on the gridiron for the eighth time overall and the sixth time as American Athletic Conference foes when they square off Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (3:30 pm, ESPN2). The game is presented by First Command and is also Senior Day.
•   Navy has won 17-straight games on Senior Day with the last loss coming in 2002.
•   Navy will look to beat a top 25-opponent in back-to-back years for the first time since 2015-16. Last year, Navy beat No. 21 SMU 35-28 on Senior Day.
•   Navy leads the all-time series 6-1, including a 5-0 mark in AAC games. Its only setback in the series was a 24-23 overtime loss to the Golden Hurricane in 2006. It was also the Mids' first overtime game in school history. Navy owns a 2-1 record against Tulsa in games played in Annapolis.
•   Since 2015, when Navy joined the American Athletic Conference, the Mids have compiled a 30-16 (.652) conference record which is the third-best mark in the league. Â
•   Navy started three different quarterbacks in its first three games of the season for the first time since 1992. That 1992 team finished 1-10. Navy has played at least two quarterbacks in six of its eight contests this year. The only games Navy played just one QB were against Temple and Houston (
Dalen Morris went the distance in both games).
•   13th-year Navy head coach
Ken Niumatalolo earned his 100th-career victory when the Mids defeated Temple in Annapolis on Oct. 10. He is the 24th active coach with 100-career wins and just the sixth active coach to achieve it at one school.
•   Navy is 42-28 (.600) in the Niumatalolo era (2008-present) in one-score games (8 points or less), including 3-1 (.750) in 2020.
•   Navy has had 25 different players make their first-career start this year which is tied with Army for the most in the country. Senior defensive end
Jackson Perkins is the only player on Navy's defensive unit to start all eight games this fall. The Mids have started four different nose guards and three different quarterbacks.
•   Sophomore linebacker
Tama Tuitele is tied for the nation's lead in forced fumbles with three.
•   Opposing kickers are an incredible 16-18 (.888) on field goals and 29-30 (.967) on extra points this year against the Mids. Two of the three misses were blocked by Navy -
Tobe Okafor blocked a field goal vs. ECU and
J'arius Warren blocked a PAT vs. SMU.
•   Senior cornerback
Cameron Kinley is one of 12 finalists for the Campbell Trophy presented by Mazda. The Campbell Trophy, also known as the Academic Heisman, is college football's premier scholar-athlete award that annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. Kinley is also a tri-captain on the football team and is the President of the Naval Academy Class of 2021.

•   The Golden Hurricane need a win over Navy or Cincinnati next week to clinch a spot opposite of Cincinnati in the AAC Championship Game.
•   In four of its five wins this season, Tulsa has had to come back from double-digit deficits, trailing by 18, 14 and 21 points all in the first half, and then 14 points at the end of 3 quarters.
•   Tulsa's 34-26 win over then-No. 11 UCF was the first for the Hurricane against a ranked opponent since handing No. 24 Hawaii a 62-35 loss in the 2010 Hawai'i Bowl and it was the first win over a top-15 opponent since Tulsa defeated No. 15 Texas A&M 35-34 in September of 1991. When Tulsa defeated then No. 19 SMU, it marked the first time in school history that it defeated two ranked teams in the same season.
