Davis Named to League’s All-Academic Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– Navy's Cam Davis (Jr., Battlefield, Mo.) received his second accolade from the Patriot League this week as he was named to the academic all-league squad.  Wednesday's award follows his earning Second-Team All-Patriot League honors on Monday.

This is the first time Davis has garnered either award.

Nominees for the academic award needed to be at least a sophomore in the classroom, maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 and be a starter or key reserve on their team.

An ocean engineering major, Davis has posted a 3.38 GPA and received academic accolades from the USNA in each of his five completed semesters.  He has earned either an A or a B in every class but one during his academic career at Navy.

On the court, Davis is on pace to become the first Mid in eight years and the 12th in school history to lead the team in both points (16.4 ppg) and assists (2.6 apg) in a season.  He has scored in double figures in 23 games this year and has met or surpassed the 20-point plateau in 10 games. Davis entered this season with 470 points and 30 three-point field goals over the course of his freshman and sophomore seasons, but heads into a Patriot League Tournament game at Boston U. on Thursday with 475 points and 63 triples this year.
