ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy offshore sailing team competed at the Annapolis Yacht Club Fall Series over the weekend, highlighted by a seventh-place finish by the crew of the Defiance in the ORC-2 class.
 
Navy was also set to compete in the Storm Trysail Club Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta, but competition on was canceled on both Saturday and Sunday due to unfavorable weather conditions.
 
The Midshipmen were represented by two crews aboard the Avenger and the Defiance, respectively. Moira Camacho (Sr., Huntsville, Ala.) led the Defiance to a seventh-place finish in the 10 team ORC-2 class while Luke Gillcrist (Sr., Fallbrook, Calif.) and his Avenger crew finished 22nd in the J105 class.
 
Navy is set to return to action this weekend as it takes part in the McMillian Cup along with the Navy JV Keelboat Invitational.
