ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy offshore sailing team completed competition at the J/105 North American Championships hosted in Annapolis over the weekend, highlighted by a 27th-place finish by the crew aboard the Constellation.
The first two days of competition were postponed due to inclement weather conditions, prior to the J/105 North American Championships finally commenced on Saturday where the Mids posted 28th, 31st and 34th-place finishes, respectively.
With ground to make up over the final set of races on Sunday, Navy improved its standing by finishing 27th, 32nd and 33rd in the 35-boat fleet. The 27th-place mark was tallied by the crew of the Constellation, led by skipper
Kelly White (Sr., Queens, N.Y.).Â
Next up for the Midshipmen is the prestigious Kennedy Cup that will be hosted in Annapolis this coming weekend, November 6-7. Â
