ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field team is set to host Army in the annual Army-Navy Outdoor Star Meet as part of the overall Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA on Saturday, April 3 at Ingram Field. Competition in America's Meet begins on the men's side before transitioning over to the women's meet.
The men's meet starts with the field events beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the running events slated for 12:00 p.m. On the women's side, the field events start at 2:15 p.m. with track events commencing at 3:30 p.m.
Live results from M&D Timing will be available throughout the meet.

Navy, Army West Point
All-Time Series
On the men's side, Navy holds a 49-44 overall advantage in the overall outdoor series with a 24-21 mark all time in Annapolis. The women's team is 19-14 all-time against the Black Knights in the outdoor series with a 11-5 mark in Annapolis. The men's team has won eight consecutive outdoor Star Meets, while the women's team has claimed 10 of the last 11 outdoor Stars.
Earlier this season, the Midshipmen swept the indoor competition at Gillis Field House in West Point, N.Y. The men's team posted a 101-80 victory, while the women's team recorded a 98-83 win.
Director of Navy Track and Field
Jamie Cook is 9-3 all-time in Army-Navy Star Meets with a 4-0 mark in outdoor competition. Under Cook, Navy won outdoor stars in 2018 and 2019 for both the men and the women. The 2020 Army-Navy Outdoor Star Meet did not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Thompson Named Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week (March 31, 2021)
The Patriot League announced its weekly track and field honors, and Navy senior
Clayton Thompson (Corpus Christi, Texas) was selected as the PL Men's Track Athlete of the Week. Thompson won three events at the Navy Spring Invitational, clocking three IC4A qualifying times, including a pair of NCAA Division I top 30 times.

The Navy track and field team competed in its first outdoor meet in 385 days, recording a solid outing at the Navy Spring Invitational on Saturday, March 27 at Ingram Field in Annapolis. Navy had four performances that ranked in the program's all-time top 10, while combing for 38 IC4A / ECAC qualifying performances.
Senior captain
Clayton Thompson (Corpus Christi, Texas) clocked a time of 14.00 in the 110m hurdles, which was the second fastest time in Navy history. The time fell just two hundredths of a second shy of tying his own school record in the event.
The women's side saw three top 10 performances on the day. Audrey Fernandez (South Hill, Wash.) registered a distance of 12.02m (39-05.25) in the triple jump, which is the fifth best performance in program history. Katie Halbert (Keller, Texas) clocked a time in the 100m hurdles to notch the ninth best time in school history. The long jump saw Ann Jackson (Roanoke, Va.) register the 10th best distance in school history with a jump of 5.75m (18-10.50).
In addition to Navy's top 10 performances, the Midshipmen tallied 22 IC4A qualifiers on the men's side, while registering 16 ECAC performances on the women's side.

The Navy track and field team posted a dominant performance as both the men's and women's teams won the Army-Navy Outdoor Star Series Meet as part of the annual Star Series presented by USAA. The men's team won 110-93, while the women completed the sweep with a 111-92 victory.
It is the eighth consecutive outdoor win over the Black Knights for the men's team, while it is the fifth straight outdoor victory over Army for the women.
The men's team tallied 42 IC4A qualifying marks on the day, while the women posted 22 ECAC qualifiers. In addition, the team posted 19 performances that rank in the school's top 10, highlighted by freshman Breanna Mealer's (Severn, Md.) school-record distance of 5.96m (19-06.75) in the long jump.
