Emmett Davis and Jon Perry Named Associate Head Coaches for the Men’s Basketball Program

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland— Emmett Davis and Jon Perry have been promoted to associate head coach by Navy head men's basketball coach Ed DeChellis it was announced today. 
 
"I am proud of the work Emmett and Jon have done for our program.  Both have excelled as on-court coaches, recruiters and administrators," said DeChellis.  "The success of our program is directly related to their abilities.  I appreciate the hard work and dedication to the program they have demonstrated over the years."
 
Navy finished the 2020-21 season 15-3 and 12-1 in the Patriot League, earning the outright No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 1996-97. Navy's 12 Patriot League wins were the most in the 30 years Navy has been in the Patriot League.
 
Navy defeated Big East Tournament champion Georgetown 78-71, which was Navy's first win over the Hoyas since 1976-77, and the first win over a then Big East Conference team since beating Pitt in 1996-97. The Mids also won the Star game over Army 69-62 for the third time in the last four years.
 
The Mids opened the year 10-1, which was the best start for a Navy basketball team since 1946-47 when the Mids also started 10-1.
 
Davis completed his sixth season as an assistant coach under DeChellis and his 18th season overall as an assistant at the Naval Academy.
 
Perry completed his eighth season as an assistant coach at Navy under DeChellis and his 19th season either playing or coaching for DeChellis.
