About Navy
Navy returns five starters and 10 of 12 letter winners from the team's 2021 spring season that saw it tie for third place in the Patriot League with a 4-1 record.  Among the returning Mids are five players who appeared in all 22 sets during the shortened campaign.  This quintet includes middle blockers Maggie Bodman (So., Northbrook, Ill.) and Anna Klemeyer (So., Sarasota, Fla.), opposite hitter Avery Stowell (Sr., Yorba Linda, Calif.), setter Celie Feighery (Jr., Oak Hill, Va.) and libero Kimberly Lynch (Sr., Murrietta, Calif.).  Also back are outside hitters Cami Herman (Sr., Brookfield, Wis.) and Taylor Gray (Sr., Huntington Beach, Calif.) and defensive specialist Tessa Bohn (Jr., Nokomis, Fla.), each of whom appeared in all five of Navy's matches.

Navy head coach Paco Labrador heads into the weekend with 499 career victories in 18 seasons as a head coach.  He compiled a 455-71 record in 15 years at Wittenburg and has posted a 44-22 record in his three seasons on The Yard.  His career winning percentage of 84.3 percent ranks seventh among active head coaches across all NCAA divisions.

About Binghamton
Friday's match will be the first between the Mids and the Bearcats.

Binghamton posted a 1-11 record during the 2021 spring season that saw the Bearcats play only America East Conference foes.

About Cleveland State
Navy and Cleveland State have met twice before, with the Vikings winning each match.  The Mids lost a 3-1 decision in a 2013 match that was played at Cincinnati, as well as a 3-0 contest played in 2014 at Cleveland State.

Cleveland State finished the 2021 spring season with a 9-7 record.  All of those matches were played against Horizon League opponents.

About Morgan State
Navy holds a 16-5 advantage in the all-time series with Morgan State.  That overall total includes a 3-1 lead in games played at Morgan State.  The Mids won the last meeting in the series, a five-set match played in Annapolis in 2011.

The Bears posted a 3-7 record against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponents this spring and a 4-8 record against all foes.

About Towson
Navy leads its series against Towson by the count of 25-22.  The Tigers have won the last four matches played in the series, with the most recent coming in 2013.

Towson's lone loss during its abbreviated seven-match 2021 slate came to Dayton in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Tigers won both of their Colonial Athletic Association regular season matches and won two matches during the conference tournament to advance to the postseason.  Towson previously advanced to the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament after it defeated American in the first round of the event.
