HOPEWELL, N.J. - The Her Hoop Stats organization announced on Wednesday the mid-season watch list for the 2022 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year and Navy's
Jennifer Coleman was at the forefront of the release as one of 15 players named to this exclusive honor.
Producing top-level results throughout the first half of the 2021-22 season, Coleman is averaging 23.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 3.0 steals in 37.6 minutes per game, while shooting over 40-percent in both field goal (43.1%) and three-point shooting (43.5%). Nationally, the senior guard ranks fifth in NCAA Division I in points per game, total double-doubles (11), eighth in minutes played per game, 15th in steals per game and 22nd in rebounds per game. She's netted 20 or more points in 14 of 16 games and has met or surpassed the 30-point total in games versus George Mason, Maryland Eastern Shore and most recently against Boston University. Amongst, the nation's leaders in double-doubles, Coleman is the only player in the top-10 that is less than six-foot tall.
To be eligible for this award, players must compete in one of the 26 conferences deemed to be "mid-major." The following conferences are considered high-major for the purposes of this award, and thus ineligible: ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, and SEC. Coleman will hope to advance as one of the 10 semifinalists that will be announced in mid-February, with five finalists being announced in early March. The winner will be announced in late March. The list is fluid and players may play their way on or off the list over the course of the season.Â

About Becky Hammon
Hammon was a three-time All-American during her career at Colorado State and led the Rams to the Sweet 16 in 1999, the program's only appearance to date. She was signed by the New York Liberty in 1999 and traded to the San Antonio Stars in 2007, where she played the rest of her career. Hammon retired in 2014 as a six-time All-Star and a two-time All-WNBA First Team honoree. In 2016 she was named one of the top 20 players in WNBA history and was recently named to the W25.
Hammon became the second female coach in NBA history when she began coaching for the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. Additionally, Hammon is the only woman to be a head coach in the NBA Summer League as well as the only woman to be a member of an NBA All-Star coaching staff. Currently, Hammon is the head coach of the Las Vegas Aces.
Coleman and Navy will continue Patriot League action later today with a road tilt versus Lehigh. The Mids and Mountain Hawks tip-off at 6 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
