ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy's
Maren Louridas and
Cam Cole were recognized by the College Sports Communicators by being named to the organization's Academic All-District Teams for basketball that were announced today.
Nominees needed to be at least a sophomore academically, carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and either play in 90 percent of the team's games or start at least 65 percent of those contests.
Louridas is now a three-time honoree for the CSC Academic All-District Award. Recognized earlier in March with a spot on the Patriot League All-Academic Team, Louridas completed her career with the women's basketball team as a participant in 122 games with 101 starts. Both of those totals rank among the top 10 in the program's record book. A two-year team captain, Louridas led the Mids to back-to-back postseason berths as Navy suited up in the WNIT last year before winning the Patriot League regular season championship and earning an automatic bid into the WBIT this year. Additionally, she has been serving as the Naval Academy's Captain of Captains for the 2025-26 academic year.
Louridas is a standout in the classroom and has recorded a 4.0 grade point average in cyber operations over her first seven semesters at the Naval Academy. Her success has resulted in her current top-five ranking in both the Academy's Academic and Military Order of Merit for the Class of 2026. Louridas was one of eight Midshipmen to receive the unique service assignment of Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer.
Cole entered the second semester of his junior year with a 3.58 GPA as a cyber operations major. He has earned academic honors from the USNA in three semesters and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the 2024-25 season.
On the court, Cole appeared in all 33 games and averaged 19.4 minutes, 6.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists a game this season. He saw his minutes and production increase as the year progressed. He averaged 23.8 minutes, 6.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game during the league season, then averaged 9.0 points and 3.3 rebounds a game during the three-game postseason.
