•   The second half of the Patriot League season begins Saturday with a meeting of the two teams tied for first place in the Patriot League standings when Navy (10-7, 7-1) plays at Colgate (15-4, 7-1) at 2 p.m., in Hamilton, N.Y.

•   Bucknell served for the second set five times and Navy served for the set three times.
•   The Bison served for the match four times, then the Mids converted on their third chance to win the match.
•   Navy held a 70-54 lead in kills and a 17-7 advantage in blocks.  That helped the Mids to a .216-.126 cushion in hitting percentage.
•   The Mids hurt themselves with 17 service errors, which were in contrast to the four service errors committed by the Bison.  Navy held a 5-2 lead in aces.

Jordan Llewellyn tied a career high with 24 kills and hit .413. Â She also had 14 digs.
•  Â
Jamie Llewellyn posted 18 kills and 13 digs.
•   The Llewellyn sisters accounted for 11 of Navy's 12 kills in the fifth set.  Six were by Jordan, including the last two points of the match.

Averi Miller finished with 56 assists, 10 digs, seven blocks and five kills.

Katie Jackowski entered the match late in set one when
Ava Toppin was injured. Â Jackowski did not have a either kill or a block in either of the two sets she had appeared in this season prior to the match. Â She totaled six kills and eight blocks in the match against the Bison.

•    Navy returns home for matches Friday against Army and Saturday against Holy Cross.
Colgate Preview
•   Colgate plays host to the Mids with an overall record of 15-4 and a Patriot League record of 7-1.  The Raiders saw their 11-match winning streak end last week when they lost to the Mids.
•   Colgate registered a four-set win at Lehigh the day after it lost to Navy, then defeated Binghamton in four sets Wednesday night.
•   Colgate and Navy first met in 1979.  The Raiders hold a 43-18 advantage in the all-time series with the Mids.  This includes a 22-5 lead in matches played in Hamilton.
•   Colgate also leads Navy, 36-17, in Patriot League regular season matches, a record that includes a 20-5 advantage in league matches played in Hamilton.
•   The teams met three times last season.  The Mids posted a three-set victory (26-24, 25-21, 25-19) in Annapolis, the Raiders won a four-set match (25-15, 27-29, 25-11, 25-20) in Hamilton and then Colgate defeated Navy in four sets (25-17, 18-25, 25-20, 25-14) in the semifinal round of the Patriot League Tournament that was played in Hamilton.

•   Five of Navy's nine sets during the Colgate (3 of 4) and Bucknell (2 of 5) weekend were decided by two points.
•   On the season, 19 of the team's 67 sets (24%) have been decided by the minimum of two points and 33 sets (48%) have been decided by five or fewer points.
•   Navy had 17 sets decided by two points during the entire 2021 season.
•   Navy has had 16 sets this year (7-9 record) in which the final score for the winning team surpassed either 25 points in sets one through four or 15 points in set five.  The highest point total in a set this season was a 32-30 loss to VCU and a 32-30 loss at Bucknell.  The Mids also won a 21-19 fifth set at Bucknell.Â
•   Navy had eight sets during the entire 2021 season in which the final score was higher than either 25 points in sets one through four or 15 points in set five.
Jordan Llewellyn Again Named Player of the WeekÂ

Jordan Llewellyn repeated as the Patriot League Player of the Week on Oct. 11.Â
•   She averaged 4.44 kills, 0.56 aces and 2.67 kills per set and hit .429 in Navy's two victories on the weekend.
•   She first totaled 16 kills, a .452 attack percentage and 10 digs in Navy's 3-1 victory over Colgate.
•   Llewellyn then posted a career-high tying 24 kills with just five attack errors on 46 attempts for a .413 hitting performance in Navy's 3-2 win at Bucknell.  She posted six kills and just one attack error on nine swings (.556) in the fifth set, with her kills accounting for the final two points in a 21-19 fifth-set win by the Mids.  Llewellyn also corralled 14 digs and added three aces and three blocks in the match.
