•    A span of four-straight road matches for the Navy (11-9, 8-3) volleyball team begins Friday night (7 p.m.) when the Mids play at American (12-11, 4-7).  The Mids then will play a Saturday afternoon (4 p.m.) match at Loyola (9-10, 7-5).
•    Loyola posted a three-set victory over American on Wednesday night in Baltimore.

Last Week 
•     Navy played a pair of home matches last week, losing in five sets to Army (25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11) and winning in three sets over Holy Cross (25-15, 25-16, 25-23).
•    Army outhit Navy, .438-.200 in the decisive final set.  For the match, the Black Knights held slim leads in kills (60-54), digs (64-57) and blocks (14-12).
•    Jamie Llewellyn totaled 16 kills and 11 digs.
•    Anna Klemeyer recorded eight blocks.
•    The next day, the Mids dropped in 13 service aces (allowed four) in their win over the Crusaders.
•    Jamie Llewellyn posted 16 kills, five digs, four blocks, three aces and a .394 attack percentage.

Next Week
•     Navy will close the road portion of its regular season with matches Friday at Lehigh and Saturday at Lafayette.

American Preview
•    The Eagles have compiled an overall record of 12-12 and posted a 4-7 mark in league matches.
•    American has lost each of its last three league matches and four matches in a row overall.  Those league defeats have been to first-place Colgate, second-place Army and Wednesday night at Loyola (25-23, 26-24, 25-12).
•    The Eagles will be playing their fourth match in eight days when they face the Mids Friday.
•    Outside hitter Zeynup Uzen, who was a 2021 first-team all-league performer and named the 2022 preseason player of the year in the league, has returned to the lineup after missing four full matches from Oct. 4-12.  In the three matches she has played since she returned, she has totaled 33 kills on 143 attempts and averaged 3.3 kills and 14.3 attempts per set (10 sets).  This includes 69 attempts in the team's four-set loss to Army on Oct. 22.  The rest of the team has totaled 77 kills on 240 attempts, and averaged 7.7 kills and 24.0 attempts per set 
•    Navy registered a 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 victory over American when the teams met Sept. 25 in Annapolis.
•    American leads the all-time series with Navy, 53-16-1.  This includes a 27-3 advantage in matches played in Washington, D.C.
•    The Eagles also hold a lead of 40-3 record against the Mids in Patriot League regular season matches played between the programs.  Their advantage is 20-1 in league matches played at American.

Loyola Preview
•    The Greyhounds, who won a three-set (25-23, 26-24, 25-12) decision over American Wednesday and do not play Friday, enter the Navy match with a 9-10 overall record and a 7-5 mark against league foes.
•    Loyola has won four of its last five matches, with the only loss in this span being a four-set defeat to first-place Colgate.
•    The Greyhounds have compiled a 6-2 record since the Mids defeated Loyola on Sept. 24.
•    Navy leads Loyola in the all-time series, 47-12-1, which dates back to October 1977.  This includes a 17-7 lead in matches played in Baltimore.
•    Navy also leads Loyola, 19-1, in Patriot League regular season matches, a record that includes a 9-1 advantage in league matches played at Loyola.
•    It should not have been a surprise that the Loyola at Navy match on Sept. 24 went five sets (25-22, 16-25, 26-28, 25-16, 15-11).  Including that match, four of the last six meetings of the teams have been extended into five sets.  Of the 27 sets played between the times during this span, 16 (59%) have been decided by no more than five points with eight (30%) determined by the minimum of two points.
