• Navy will play host to American Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal round match.
• The Mids posted an 11-5 record in league matches this year to earn the No. 3 seed. Navy has compiled a 14-11 record overall this season.
• The Eagles travel to Annapolis with a 7-9 record in league play and as the No. 6 seed in the postseason. American concluded the regular season with an overall record of 15-14.

• Navy closed its regular season with a five-set loss to Bucknell on Sunday. The Bison defeated the Mids, 21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 16-14.
• The teams knew entering the match that the result would have no bearing on any team in the Patriot League Tournament.
• Navy's regular stating lineup took to the floor in set one, then all but two starters remained on the bench for the duration of the match that last over two and one-half hours.

PL Tournament Summary
• All three local teams are competing in the league tournament Tuesday night. While No. 6 American plays at No. 3 Navy, No. 4 Loyola plays host to No. 5 Bucknell in the second quarterfinal round match.
• No. 1 seed Colgate will face the lower-seeded team to advance out of the quarterfinals on Saturday in the first of two semifinal matches to be played in Hamilton, N.Y. No. 2 seed Army will face the higher-seeded team to advance in the second semifinal.
Navy in the PL Tournament
• Navy has advanced to the Patriot League Tournament in four of
Paco Labrador's five seasons.
• The Mids were the No. 2 seed in the four-team field in his first season, 2018. Navy would defeat Loyola and American to win the program's first Patriot League Tournament title.
• In 2019, Navy was the No. 4 seed in the six-team event. The Mids defeated No. 5 Lehigh in the quarterfinals before losing to No. 1 American in the semifinals.
• The field was reduced to just four teams in the 2020-21 COVID season. The Mids were tied with American and Army for third place, but barely lost out on a berth into the field.
• Last season, the No. 6 Mids went on the road to defeat No. 3 Army in the quarterfinal round, then fell to top-seeded Colgate in the semifinals.
• Navy has compiled a 2-0 record in the quarterfinals, a 3-2 record as the No. 3 seed, a 3-3 record in home tournament matches and a 1-5 record in the tournament against American.

American Preview
• American won its last three matches to end the regular season to earn the No. 6 seed in the tournament.
• The Eagles are led by 2021 and '22 first-team all-league player Zeynep Uzen. The opposite hitter is averaging 4.31 kills (second in the league) and 12.5 attempts per set on the year. In league matches, she is averaging 4.34 kills (second in the league).
• American holds a 53-17-1 advantage in the all-time series with Navy. This includes a 24-9 lead in matches played in Annapolis.
• American also leads Navy, 5-1, in Patriot League Tournament matches. Tuesday will be the first time the teams will have met in the postseason outside of Washington, D.C.

Navy vs. American in 2022
• Navy posted a pair of victories over American this season. The Mids first won a 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 decision on Sept. 25 in Annapolis, then posted a 25-16, 25-21, 25-23 victory on Oct. 28 in Washington, D.C.
• It was the first time the Mids have defeated the Eagles twice in a regular season since American joined the Patriot League for the 2001 season.
• The Mids held a 14.00 to 9.29 advantage in kills per set in the two matches. Navy also outhit American, .218 to .124.

Jordan Llewellyn averaged 3.68 kills per set against American and her sister, Jamie, averaged 3.14 kills per set.

Trio Earns Patriot League Accolades

Maggie Bodman,
Averi Miller and
Jordan Llewellyn received postseason awards from the Patriot League on Monday. Bodman garnered first-team all-league accolades and both Miller and Llewelyyn were named to the league's second team.
• Bodman previously was named the league's rookie of the year and received a pair of second-team all-league honors. This year, she leads the league in hitting percentage during the league season with a mark of .382 and ranks fifth with an average of 1.03 blocks per set. Bodman also ranks second in hitting percentage (.330) and fifth in blocks (1.04 bps) for the overall campaign.
• Miller received a postseason nod for the first time in her career. She leads all players with an average of 10.57 assists per set during the league season and stands second with her 9.92 assists-per-set average for the full year.
• Llewellyn joins Miller in earning league recognition for the first time. She stands third in both kills (3.52 kps) and aces (0.46 saps) against league competition, as well as fourth in kills (3.38 kps) and seventh in aces (0.33 saps) in all matches played this season.
