ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis.  The Mids (7-3) posted a 5-2 win over Bryant (1-9) and lost a 4-3 decision to Richmond (3-2).

Navy won two of the three doubles matches against Bryant to take the early 1-0 lead. Finn Garner (Jr., Arnold, Md.) and Gavin Segraves (Jr., Charlottesville, Va.) combined for a 6-3 win over Grant Pertile and Diego Serra Sparrow at the No. 1 flight, while Jack Dabek (Sr., Dublin, Ohio) and Luke Garner (Fr., Arnold, Md.) defeated Will Pellegrini and Diego Trejo at No. 2 doubles by the score of 6-2.

The Mids then won four straight-set singles matches to earn the victory. Segeraves defeated Nick Lorenz, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, then Dabek posted a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Leonardo Mileikowsky at No. 3 to make the score 3-0.  Navy secured the match when Finn Garner recorded a 7-5, 6-3 win over Serra Sparrow at the No. 1 flight.  Completing the list of singles winners for Navy was William Pak (So., Chantilly, Va.) as he defeated Trejo, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1, at No. 6 singles.

In Navy's second match of the day, Richmond won all three doubles matches to earn the lone point.  Mids who posted singles wins were Derrick Thompson (Sr., Towson, Md.) at No. 1, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7). Jake Fishkin (Sr., Baltimore, Md.) at No. 3, 6-4, 7-5, and Sasha Panyan (So., Lutherville, Md.) at No. 4, 6-4, 6-1.

The Mids will play four matches next weekend, starting with Friday matches at home against Fairmont State and at Delaware.
