ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's tennis team (10-1) is slated to return to action Saturday as it welcomes Drexel (2-5) to the Tose Family Tennis Center before traveling to take on Towson (1-4) in its second road match of the season at the Coppermine Racquet and Fitness Club in Pikesville, Md.
The Midshipmen are scheduled to take on the Dragons at 11 a.m. followed by a tilt against the Tigers at 6 p.m. Free, live results of both matches will be provided via NavySports.com.
COVID-19 POLICY
In an update made earlier this week by the Department of Defense, mask wear is now optional for personnel and visitors at the Naval Academy and the Brigade Sports Complex.
ALL-TIME SERIES
In four all-time meetings against Drexel, Navy has played to a perfect 4-0 record that includes winning the last meeting of the series, 6-1, that came during the 2020 season. Over 10 meetings against Towson, the Midshipmen have an unbeaten 10-0 mark in which they have only lost two points to the Tigers twice.
LAST TIME OUT
Last time out, Navy defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 7-0, to improve to 10-1 on the 2022 dual season. The win over the Knights marked the third time in program history that the Midshipmen have totaled at least 10 wins through their first 11 matches (2012, 2020 and 2022).
Emily Tannenbaum (Fr., Commack, N.Y.) was the top performer for the Mids against FDU, earning a 6-0 victory at the No. 1 doubles position with
Meghana Komarraju (Sr., Vienna, Va.) before recording a straight-set win (6-2, 6-0) in the No. 3 singles competition.

SCOUTING THE MIDSHIPMEN
LEADING THE CHARGE: Tannenbaum leads the way for the Mids this season in singles competition, posting a team-high 17 wins that includes a 7-1 mark on the dual season.
Jillian Taggart (Jr., Fair Oaks, Calif.) ranks second on the team with 15 singles victories this season, with four of those wins coming at the No. 1 position. Rounding out the top performers for Navy on the singles circuit is the duo of Komarraju and
Sylvia Eklund (Fr., Bellevue, Wash.) with 14 wins apiece.
TOP-TANDEMS: In doubles play, the pairing of Komarraju and
Katreina Corpuz (Sr., Ewa Beach, Hawai'i) have combined for 12 doubles wins this season that includes a perfect 5-0 record in dual action. Taggart and
Kacey Moore (Sr., Wellington, Fla.) have seen the most time at the No. 1 doubles position for the Mids in dual play, recording a 4-2 record along with having a 7-3 overall mark.
WINNING WAYS: On the dual season, Navy has an outstanding record of 57-12 in singles competition while having an equally impressive mark of 29-4 in doubles. With its sweep of singles competition last time out against Fairleigh Dickinson, the Midshipmen have earned a sweep of the singles circuit five times this season.
KEEP THE STREAK ALIVE: Entering play Saturday, Komarraju and
Corinne Farid (So., Columbia, Mo.) have won each of their last seven singles matches, respectively. Komarraju is 9-1 in her last 10 matches played on the singles circuit while Farid has totaled seven wins in her last 10 contests. Coming in just behind Farid and Komarraju is
Kate Lee (Fr., Concord, Calif.) who has won five-straight singles matches along with having a perfect 4-0 mark in singles this dual season.

LAST TIME OUT: Last time out, Drexel dropped a 5-2 decision to Fordham, losing two of the three doubles matches before going 2-4 in the singles portion of the match. The pairing of Isabel Caberizo and Aida Garcia Mendez won the No. 3 doubles match for the Dragons while Caberizo and Lorie Lemongo each recorded victories in singles.
LEADING THE CHARGE: Lemongo leads the charge for the Dragons in singles with 11 wins on the season including a 3-3 mark at the No. 1 position this dual season. Cabrerizo ranks second for Drexel with 10 wins in singles while Garcia Mendez is third with a 7-6 mark.
TOP-TANDEMS: Lemongo and Mya Fuentes enter Saturday's competition as the top-doubles team for Drexel this season. The pairing has totaled five victories, two of which have come at the No. 1 spot this dual season. Garcia Mendez and Tara Veluvolu rank second in doubles wins for the Dragons in 2021-22, totaling a 4-3 mark.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
LAST TIME OUT: Towson is coming off losing to Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-3, last time out. In the tightly contested match against the Knights, the Tigers lost the doubles point after dropping a pair of 6-3 decisions in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.
In singles, Sissi Axelson and Themis Haliou won in straight sets on courts two and five prior to Amelia Lawson earning victory in the No. 1 match. However, FDU went on to earn wins at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 matches to clinch the one-point win over Towson.
LEADING THE CHARGE: Lawson has played at the No. 1 position in singles in four of Towson's five matches this season, totaling a record of 3-1 with one unfinished match. Haliou has been a consistent presence at the No. 2 position for the Tigers, recording a 2-3 mark.
TOP-TANDEMS: In doubles play this season, the pairing of Axelsson and Haliou has played at the No. 1 position in each of the Towson's five matches, totaling a record of 3-2. The No. 2 doubles team of Lawson and Lea Kosanovic have won one of their five matches this season.

Following its contests against Drexel and Towson, Navy will return to action March 11 for a home match against Temple set to begin at 5 p.m. Following their match against the Owls, the Midshipmen are slated to travel to Orlando, Fla. for a quartet of matches against Harvard (March 15), Millsaps (March 15), Bradley (March 16) and Merrimack (March 16).
