ANNAPOLIS, Md. -
Millie Oldham of the Navy women's rowing team was recently announced as a 2022 CRCA Pocock Honorable Mention All-American. A standout throughout her first three seasons with the Mids, Oldham earned the honor after obtaining a spot on the All-Patriot League First Team this past May.
A member of Navy's first varsity eight crew during the spring competition season, Oldham helped the Mids' V8 capture a bronze medal at the 2022 Patriot League Championship. On May 13 in Cherry Hill, N.J., Oldham and Navy came out in the afternoon's grand final and found themselves in a fight for second place with the Boston University Terriers. Tight throughout most of the 2,000-meter race, Boston held off Navy for second place with a 2.06-second margin of separation, 6:57.15 to 6:59.21. Oldham raced from the sixth seat for Navy that afternoon.
A two-time All-Patriot League First Team honoree, this is Oldham's first career All-American award. The criteria for this national recognition requires individuals to have rowed at least 75% of her season's races with the first varsity eight and be named to her respective conference's first team, while being judged on overall boat performance, coach's comments, individual achievements and 2k erg score. She is one of only two Patriot League rowers to earn this national honor as Boston's Megan Mastrotrilli was also selected to the honorable mention team.
As a program, Navy has now earned CRCA All-American honors in each of the past four seasons, that had competition, 2018 (2nd Team), 2019 (2nd Team) and 2021 (1st Team) with Alexandria Vallancey-Martinson, as well as with Ashlyn Dawson in 2019 (Honorable Mention). Â
