ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Coming off another two-win weekend, the Navy women's tennis team (5-2) is slated to wrap up its six-match homestand on Sunday, Feb. 12 when the Midshipmen welcome George Mason (2-0) to the Tose Family Tennis Center for a 10 a.m. matchup.
The Mids enter the weekend on a five-match winning streak after sweeping Towson and Saint Joseph's, having the chance to make it an undefeated homestand with a victory over the visiting Patriots.
A Long, Successful Stay at Home
Though five home dual matches, the Mids have posted a 28-2 record in singles play and 14-1 mark on the doubles courts … Navy has posted nine-straight dual wins at home dating back to last season, and the Mids have only lose three home matches over the past two-plus seasons … The Mids are 187-42 all-time at home, posting winning records at home every season during the program's history … A victory over George Mason would guarantee Navy a winning home record for the 15th consecutive season under head coach

Last weekend's 7-0 victories over Towson and Saint Joseph's saw the Mids claim all 12 singles matches of each of the six doubles matchups … Sophomores

Tannenbaum Claims Weekly Honors
For the first time this season, Tannenbaum was named the Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday … The Commack, New York native got her weekend started with 6-1, 6-1 win against the No. 1 Towson player, Sarah Pospischill … Tannenbaum then paired up with Johns for a 6-0 doubles victory over the Saint Joseph's top duo of Charlotte Kordonowy and Stow Weiss, and followed up by tallying a 6-2, 6-0 singles win over Weiss at the No. 1 spot … She extended her personal singles winning streak to four matches and sits on a three-match doubles win streak as well … This marks Tannenbaum's second time winning Patriot League Player of the Week in her career … Tannenbaum is also the second Mid in three weeks to receive the league's weekly award, as Chaudry picked up PL Player of the Week honors on Jan. 24.
Scouting the Patriots
George Mason sits at a perfect 2-0 record on the spring, having picked up a victory on each of the past two weekends … The Patriots scored a 5-2 win over Loyola Maryland on Jan. 28 before defeating Delaware State, 5-2, in a Feb. 4 meeting … Preseason All-Atlantic 10 selection Paige La holds a 7-4 singles record, while La and Taylor Gercia have gone 7-5 as a pairing this season, including a perfect record in duals so far this spring … The Patriots' players went a combined 1-3 in singles and 0-4 in doubles against Navy competition between the Moore Invitational and the ITA Atlantic Regionals during the fall portion of their schedule.
