ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team posted wins in five of six doubles matches on Sunday as the Mids (6-6) recorded a 7-0 victory over Wagner (0-1) in Annapolis and lost a 6-1 decision to Youngstown State (4-3) in Youngstown, Ohio.

Navy's doubles teams have combined for a 23-13 record in dual matches.

Navy 7, Wagner 0
Navy's three doubles teams lost a combined five games in sweeping the three matches.  Christian Pumpelly (Sr., Atlanta, Ga.) and Gavin Segraves (Sr., Charlottesville, Va.) did not lose a game in winning at No. 2 doubles and be the first match to finish.  The next match to finish was the No. 3 flight where Herrick Legaspi (Fr., Sacramento, Calif.) and Nicholas Nguyen (Jr., McLean, Va.) won a 6-3 decision.  Completing the sweep was the No. 1 tandem of Luke Garner (So., Arnold, Md.) and Sasha Panyan (Jr., Lutherville, Md.) as the pairing won by the score of 6-2.

Those same six Mids then took to the court in singles and each won in straight sets.

Youngstown State 6, Navy 1
The Penguins won the first doubles match to finish, but the Mids won the remaining two flights in tiebreakers to earn the available point.  

At No. 3 doubles, Andres Ballesteros (Sr., West Hartford, Conn.) and Eric Liu (Jr., Canton, Mich.) won a 7-2 tiebreaker, then Matthew McNair (Fr., Annapolis, Md.) and J.J. Etterbeek (Fr., Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) posted a 9-7 win in the breaker to win at the No. 2 flight.

Youngstown State went on to win the six singles matches in straight sets.
