ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team closed it spring break trip with a pair of losses Friday afternoon in San Diego.  The Mids (10-16) lost a 7-0 decision to Point Loma (10-1) and a 6-1 dual to UC San Diego (5-12).

Point Loma 7, Navy 0
The Sea Lions won the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles.  Navy's No. 1 team of Luke Garner (So., Arnold, Md.) and Sasha Panyan (Jr., Lutherville, Md.) posted a 6-3 win over Tyler Davis and Alexander Leischner in the remaining match.

Point Loma then won six straight-set singles matches to secure the victory.  

UC San Diego 6, Navy 1
Just as in the Point Loma match, Navy's No. 1 doubles team defeated the Tritons.  Herrick Legaspi (Fr., Sacramento, Calif.) and Gavin Segraves (Sr., Charlottesville, Va.) recorded a 7-6 (7-5) win over Pelayo Rodriguez and Daniel Traxler at the top of the lineup.

Navy's singles win came from J.J. Etterbeek (Fr., Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) as he defeated Rodriguez, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4 singles.

The majority of the remaining singles matches were close as two of the wins by UCSD came in three-set decisions.  At the No. 3 flight, Navy's Nicholas Nguyen (Jr., McLean, Va.) was edged, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (13-11), by Diogo Tinico.  The No. 5 match was won by Charles Qian over Aniketh Ayinala (Fr., Charlotte, N.C.), 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-2).  

Also, Garner lost, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, to Davis at No. 2 and Graydon Buckingham (Fr., Daufuskie Island, S.C.) dropped a 6-3, 7-5 match to Nabeel Khan at the No. 6 flight.
