ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The first Patriot League match of the season highlights the next few days for the Navy men's tennis team. The Mids (10-16) first will play host to matches Friday against Harford Community College at 1 p.m. and against Coppin State (0-7) at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Navy will face Long Island (2-11) at 9 a.m. in Annapolis and league-foe Boston U. (8-8) at 10 a.m. in Winchester, Mass.
The scrimmage against Harford will not count toward the team's record.

Navy Review
Weather impacted Navy's efforts during its spring break trip to Southern California past week. The Mids were well on their way to defeating UC Riverside -- Navy led, 1-0, and was up in four additional matches -- when play had to be stopped due to rain. The weather also forced a cancellation of the team's scheduled match against Azusa Pacific without a point being played.
Navy would lose the four matches that were able to be played. The Mids fell 5-0 to Westcliff, 7-0 to Loyola Marymount, 6-1 to UC San Diego and 7-0 to Point Loma.
Coppin State - Friday, 4 p.m., Tose Family Tennis Center
Coppin State has lost matches this season to Saint Joseph's (7-0), Bucknell (7-0) and Villanova (7-0). In contrast, Navy has posted wins over Saint Joseph's (5-2) and Villanova (6-1) and will face Bucknell on April 8.
The Eagles posted a 1-13 record last season and ended Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play with a 1-4 mark.
Navy has won all 10 prior matches against Coppin State. The Mids posted a 7-0 victory when the teams met in 2022.
Long Island - Sunday, 9 a.m., Tose Family Tennis Center (indoor site), USNA Tennis Courts (outdoor site)
The Sharks will play Morgan State on Saturday before taking on the Mids.
LIU has suffered losses to, among other teams, Lehigh (5-2), Hofstra (4-0) and Saint Joseph's (5-2) this year. The Mids have defeated the Hawks and the Pride (5-2) and will play Lehigh on April 1.
The Sharks tallied a 14-10 overall record a year ago and earned the No. 4 seed in the Northeast Conference Tournament with a 5-3 record. LIU won its quarterfinal round match in the conference tournament before losing in the semifinals.
Sunday's meeting will be the first between Navy and Long Island.
Boston U. - Sunday, 10 a.m., Winchester Tennis Club, Winchester, Mass.
The Terriers will play Saturday at Harvard prior to facing the Mids on Sunday.
Boston registered a win over Wagner (5-2) and has dropped matches to Dartmouth (6-1) and Delaware (6-1). Navy has posted a victory over Wagner (7-0), lost two matches to Dartmouth (5-2, 7-0) and lost to Delaware (7-0).
The Terriers posted a 3-18 overall record in 2022 and tallied a 2-4 record in league regular season matches. Boston, the fifth-seeded team, lost a 4-3 decision to No. 4 Bucknell in the quarterfinal round of last year's league tournament.
Navy holds a 4-2 edge in the series between the teams. The Mids won a 4-0 match against the Terriers in 2022.
