The Navy men's golf team will be back on the links this week, traveling to Williamsburg, Va. to compete in the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate. Hosted by William & Mary, the two-day, 54-hole event will be held at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (par-71, 6,817 yards) with 36 holes of action scheduled for Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday. There will be a shotgun start on both days at 8:30 am.

Tournament History
• William & Mary has hosted a spring tournament since 1978, however this will be the seventh time the competition has been held at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.
• The 2001, '02 and '05 tournaments were played on the Green Course, however the 2019, '21, '22 and now '23 tournaments were held on the Gold Course.
• The Gold Course also played host to the 2007 NCAA Men's Golf Championship and the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Championship.
• Towson (294-300-288=882) was crowned the 2022 champion, beating second-place Georgetown (287-301-301=889) by 7 strokes.
• Villanova's Peter Weaver (67-75-72=214) returns as the 2022 individual medalist.

Chip Deegan shot par (72-72=144) en route to his first-collegiate top-five finish, while Navy turned in an 18-over par 594 to place third at the 36-hole Carpetbagger Classic held March 18-19 at the par-72 Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, Md.
• Navy began the final round in fourth place among the 15-team field, but shot the third-lowest score (295) of the day to push up to third in the final standings.
• Navy finished 9 strokes behind tournament-winner Rhode Island and 4 behind second-place Bryant.
