BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Annie Taylor was selected as the Patriot League Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the outdoor track and field season, the league announced Thursday. She was one of a league-best eight Midshipmen to earn all-academic team honors.
To be eligible for the team, student-athletes must have attained at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average at the school and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen and students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
Each team consists of 21 honorees. Navy placed a league-best five athletes on the men's team and finished with the second-most selections on the women's team with three.
Taylor is the first Midshipmen to win the women's outdoor award since Brigid Byrne in 2013. The junior mathematics major earned her second Patriot League academic team recognition after previously being recognized during the indoor season. Additionally, she has garnered USTFCCCA Scholar-Athlete (2021) and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) First Team Academic All-District (2022) honors. The Nashville, Tenn., native will enter her senior year as one of the top-ranked students in the Class of 2024. She currently stands second in the Military Order of Merit, first in the Academic Order of Merit and fifth in the Overall Order of Merit. She has received six USNA academic honors while maintaining a cumulative 4.0 GPA through the 2023 spring semester.
Taylor scored the third-most heptathlon points in Navy history (4,985) to win the event at this year's Patriot League Outdoor Championship. Additionally, she placed second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.83.
Joining Taylor on the women's all-academic team are
Ellie Abraham and
Emily Boutin.
Abraham earned all-academic team honors during the indoor and outdoor seasons for the second-straight year. The history major has posted a cumulative 3.82 GPA and received academic honors from the USNA in all six completed semesters. She ranks third in the Class of 2024 on the Military Order of Merit and 67th in the Overall Order of Merit.
The Brookings, S.D., native repeated as the Patriot League 3,000m steeplechase champion with a time of 10:35.72.
Boutin collected all-academic awards in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field during her junior season. Additionally, she was named an All-Academic Athlete by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) last fall. The English major ranks sixth in the Class of 2024 in the Military Order of Merit. She has received six academic accolades from the USNA and has compiled a cumulative 3.76 GPA.
The Chicopee, Mass., native finished in second place in the 10,000m with the fifth-fastest time in program history (35:16.53) at the league championship.
Navy's representatives on the men's team are

Preston Wilson.
Autrey earned his third Patriot League All-Academic Team award of his career. The Mountain Brook, Ala., native major has collected USNA academic honors in all eight semesters and posted a 3.5 cumulative GPA. He won his second-straight decathlon at the outdoor championship with the fifth-most points in Navy history (7,233).
Brady, an aerospace engineering major, was named to the academic all-league team during the indoor and outdoor seasons for the second-straight year. The Phoenix, Ariz., native has also collected two Patriot League Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year awards in cross country (2021, '22) and has been named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team for cross country the last two seasons. Additionally, he previously earned Third Team Academic All-America (2022) honors. He will graduate with a 3.87 overall GPA and USNA academic honors in all eight semesters.
Brady placed second in the 3,000m steeplechase at the league championship with the best time in his career (8:52.81). Additionally, he qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championship in the event with his career-best time.
Greene received the second all-academic team honor of his career. The chemistry major has earned six USNA academic honors and has posted a 3.76 cumulative GPA. His top placement at the outdoor championship was a fifth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 16.69m (54' 9.25").
Presser garnered his second outdoor all-academic team accolade after recording another all-league performance in the javelin. The mathematics major has also received two USTFCCCA Scholar-Athlete awards (2021, '22). He has maintained a 3.93 GPA and collected USNA academic accolades in all six completed semesters.
Presser earned Second Team All-Patriot League distinction in the javelin with a throw of 69.60m (228' 4"). The junior qualified for the East Regional Championship by posting the 14th-best javelin distance in the country at 73.08m (239' 9").
Wilson collected his second Patriot League academic team nod. The robotics and control engineering major holds a 3.87 cumulative GPA along with four USNA academic honors. The sophomore placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 2.01m (6' 7") at the conference championship.
