Recap of Quinnipiac Match
Navy last competed on Sept. 16 and fell to Quinnipiac, 46-3.

The Mids controlled the ball in its offensive zone early in the match, but penalties allowed the Bobcats to flip the field. Quinnipiac marched down the pitch and scored its first try in the eighth minute to take a 7-0 lead.

Additional penalties against Navy set up a penalty kick for Quinnipiac in the 12th minute to build a 10-0 lead.

The Mids went down a player in the 14th minute due to a yellow card. The Bobcats took advantage of having an extra player to score another two tries in the 21st and 24th minutes to make the score, 24-0.

Quinnipiac scored its fourth try in the 30th minute, but Navy began to find success moving the ball after the kickoff. Mia Young received a clearing kick and broke a pair of tackles to push the Mids into their offensive zone. A penalty against Quinnipiac granted Navy a tap-and-go and Grace Oliver plunged ahead to advance the Mids near the 22-meter line. An additional penalty awarded Navy a penalty kick and Abby Hershner sent the attempt right down the middle in the 35th minute to make the score, 31-3.

The Bobcats would answer with another try to end the first half to make the score, 38-3, at intermission.

Quinnipiac struck for a score just three minutes into the second half. The Mids quickly regrouped and kept the Bobcats out of the try zone for the remainder of the contest.

Navy continued to have success moving the ball in the second half, but penalties negated any additional scoring chances.

Quinnipiac concluded the scoring with a penalty kick in the 62nd minute.

Hershner Continues to Shine as Kicker
Senior Abby Hershner has excelled in her role as Navy's kicker this season. Her penalty kick against Quinnipiac was her fifth of the season. The successful attempt moved her past Nicole Deprey as the all-time leader in made penalty kicks for the Mids in their varsity history.

The North East, Md., native leads the team in scoring with 19 points and has accounted for nearly one-third of Navy's points this season.
