BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Zanai Barnett-Gay's standout freshman season continued to roll on Tuesday as she was named as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the fourth time in just eight weeks of action. The plebe from Glenn Dale, Maryland was recognized by the league for her 15-point performance at UAlbany on Saturday in Navy's non-conference regular season finale.
Barnett-Gay led the Mids in its road tilt against the Great Danes on Saturday with a team-high 15 points. Taking on a UAlbany team that is 11-2, Barnett-Gay shot 4-8 from the field and a perfect 7-7 from the foul line, while adding four assists, three rebounds and two steals. She did all of this over 26 minutes having to navigate foul trouble as she had three fouls in the first half and four for the game.
For the year, Barnett-Gay currently ranks 33rd in the nation with a 19.5Â points per game average. Among fellow Patriot League players, she is tops in scoring and steals with 3.0 per game, third in assists with 3.7 helpers per game and seventh in rebounds with 6.3 caroms per contest.

The Navy women's basketball team will be in action on Wednesday with its Patriot League opener at Boston University. Tip-off between the Mids and Terriers is scheduled for 2 p.m. at BU's Case Gym.
