ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy wrestling team (6-5, 1-2 EIWA) will compete in Annapolis for the first time since Nov. 18 this weekend in a pair of duals against Lock Haven (5-8, 2-2 MAC) on Friday and EIWA foe Bucknell (7-4, 3-1 EIWA) on Saturday.
Both matches will be held at Alumni Hall at 7:30 p.m.

• All other visitors must either park outside of the Naval Academy grounds and walk through the security gates at Gate 1 or take the complimentary shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401)
• The shuttles will run from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
• Enter the blue/west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue
• The cost of parking is $10
• Visitors 18 years and older must present a government-issued identification card (driver's license / passport) to gain access to the Academy grounds, while visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult
Weekend Promotions
• Friday night is high school night at Alumni Hall. High school teams who submit their roster in advance (players, coaches, support staff, etc.) get free tickets for everyone listed. Teams can submit their rosters

• The Mids are 6-5 this season and 1-2 against EIWA opponents
• Navy opened the 2023-24 campaign with six-straight victories, which was its best start to a season since 2016-17
• The Mids have lost their last five duals. Navy hadn't lost five-consecutive duals since the 2008-09 season

Cary Kolat will go up against his alma mater, Lock Haven, for the second time in his coaching career. Kolat spent his final two years of eligibility with the Bald Eagles, where he won both of his NCAA Championship titles. He ended with a 51-1 record with Lock Haven and was a two-time PSAC champion (1996-97) and an Eastern Wrestling League champion (1996-97). He also won the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Eastern Wrestling League Championships in both his junior and senior seasons
• Assistant coach
Dan Neff is also an alumnus of Lock Haven and wrestled under current head coach Scott Moore. Neff was a four-time NCAA qualifier and garnered All-America honors in 2015 after placing eighth in the 149-pound weight class at the NCAA Championship. In doing so, he became the school's 39th All-American and the first since 2007. Additionally, he was the 2016 Eastern Wrestling League Champion at 149 pounds and earned PSAC Freshman of the Year honors in 2012. He finished his career 11th on Lock Haven's all-time wins list with a 109-46 record
• Neff also was an assistant coach with Bucknell for two seasons, which included one of its most successful campaigns in 2016-17. The Bison closed out the year with a 12-4 mark, including a 9-1 record against EIWA competition. That same season, Bucknell placed sixth at the EIWA Championship and sent four wrestlers to the NCAA Championship in St. Louis

Andrew Cerniglia (165) claimed his 13th-consecutive win on Sunday to improve to 17-3 this season. It's the longest winning streak in his career
• He defeated Isaias Estrada by fall (0:42) for his first victory by fall in a dual match since Feb. 6, 2022. It was his 10th win by fall in his career
• The senior is 8-1 in duals this season and 23-4 in his career. His 85.2 winning percentage in duals ranks first on the team

Kaemen Smith (149) doubled his win total from his freshman campaign with a 13-9 decision against Wil Guida. Smith finished just 9-17 overall and 2-6 in duals a year ago, but is 18-8 and 3-1 in duals this season

• Bucknell has defeated Long Island (25-11), American (31-9) and Drexel (24-10) for its three league wins. The lone EIWA loss for the Bison was to Army (18-15)
• Bucknell nearly pulled off an upset over Wisconsin. The Bison led, 17-9, through six bouts, but the Badgers claimed three of the final four matches to win, 24-22. The dual featured three falls and two technical falls
• Half of Bucknell's projected starters were ranked in the first coaches' rankings
• Seven wrestlers in the lineup have posted 15 or more wins this season
• Noah Mulvaney (165) has been a huge success story in his first year in Lewisburg
• The freshman is 12th in the country with a 23-3 overall record and has won nine of his 10 dual matches
• He is one of only four wrestlers ranked at 165 pounds by InterMat with 20 or more wins
• Mulvaney is the second-highest ranked wrestler in the EIWA behind Cornell's No. 4 Julian Ramirez
• Kurt Phipps (133) is also a notable name. He is ranked 13th in the coaches' rankings and 14th by InterMat
• Phipps is 18-2 overall and 9-2 in duals this season. His only losses during his senior campaign have been to then No. 2 Dayton Fix of Oklahoma State (fall, 5:28) and Tyler Wells of Minnesota (11-5)

900 Wins and Counting
• Established in 1909, the Navy wrestling program is in its 116th season as a varsity sport. Head coach John Schutz directed the Mids to a 24-9 victory over Penn on March 13, 1909 in their inaugural dualÂ
• Having amassed a 927-329-26 overall record, Navy captured the program's 900th win behind a 21-12 victory over Maryland on Dec. 6, 2019
• With 74 NCAA Championship appearances in tow, there are just eight programs who have competed in more - Oklahoma State (91), Oklahoma (83), Iowa State (82), Michigan (81), Michigan State (79), Penn State (79), Lehigh (77) and Illinois (76). Like Navy, both Iowa and Minnesota have made 74 appearances
• The Mids, meanwhile, have the 25th-longest active NCAA Championship appearance streak, having competed in each of the last 25 tournaments. Oklahoma leads the country with 73-straight appearances
