BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Navy's Austin Benigni received his third Patriot League Men's Basketball Player-of-the Week award of the season on Monday.

Benigni garnered the accolade after he averaged 23.5 points per game in Navy's wins over Loyola (69-62) and Holy Cross (76-66).

He first totaled 27 points, five rebounds and three assists against the Greyhounds.  Benigni was 13-16 from the free throw line in the game.

The sophomore guard then produced 20 points, five rebounds and three assists in the team's senior day victory over the Crusaders.  He was 7-8 from the charity stripe in the game.

Benigni previously was named the league's player of the week on Jan. 2 and Jan. 22.  He is the fourth Mid and the first since Chris Harris in 2009-10 to win the award at least three times in one season (Mike Heary, 4, 1996-97; Kaleo Kina, 4, 2008-09; Chris Harris, 3, 2009-10).

Navy closes its regular season with games Wednesday at home against Lafayette and Saturday at American.
