ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After having its winning streak snapped at Delaware, the Navy women's tennis team (5-2) will try to start a new streak this weekend with a pair of Sunday matches, welcoming regional foes George Mason (0-2) and George Washington (0-1) to the Tose Family Tennis Center.
The Midshipmen kick off the doubleheader with the Patriots at 10 a.m., before facing the Revolutionaries in a 2 p.m. contest.
Home Sweet Home
Taking advantage of the Tose courts, Navy has posted a 5-0 mark at home this spring … Wins over St. Bonaventure, Saint Francis, Villanova, Howard and Saint Joseph's have opened a 19-match home slate for the Mids … Navy has gone 26-4 in singles action at home this spring, including being a perfect 5-0 at both the No. 1 and No. 2 positions … In doubles play, the Mids have gone 10-5 at home this spring.

Olivia Fermo coaxed out a 7-5 win at the No. 2 spot to secure the doubles point … Delaware then took the No. 2-5 singles matches to clinch the win, but Tannenbaum outlasted Slade Coetzee at the top position to pick up the 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 victory.

Sporting a 5-0 singles this spring, Tannenbaum ranks fourth in program history with 73 career singles wins, needing five more victories to catch Darien Sears for third in the record book … Additionally, Tannenbaum's .800 career singles winning percentage stands fourth in program history currently … Tannenbaum also ranks fifth in the Navy record books with 129 career combined victories, sitting three shy of tying Kaylah Hodge for fourth in school history.

George Mason is off to a 0-2 start, falling to VCU, 6-0, in its spring opener before dropping a 4-0 contest to Wake Forest last Saturday … Ruju Chauhan, a grad transfer from Prairie View A&M, ended the fall season ranked as the No. 116 singles player nationally by the ITA, going 7-1 and winning two tournaments … The Patriots tallied a 10-7 record last season, going 2-3 in Atlantic 10 play.

George Washington began its spring season on Jan. 20 with a 7-0 loss at Maryland, as the Revolutionaries are set to play three matches in three days this weekend … GW will begin the stretch by hosting Delaware State on Friday, then playing East Carolina in a Saturday neutral-site match in Boyds, Md., and closing out the weekend in Annapolis against the Mids … The Revolutionaries put together a 9-11-1 overall mark last year, going 5-4 in Atlantic 10 action … Gabriela Giraldo and Stella Wiesemann both return after being named as All-Atlantic 10 First Team selections last May.
