ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team (15-5) split a pair of matches on Friday, losing a 5-2 decision at No. 32 Delaware (8-0) and winning a 7-0 match at home against Coppin State (0-8).

#32 Delaware 5, Navy 2
After the Blue Hens earned the doubles point, they won straight-set singles matches at, in order of finish, the Nos. 4-5-2 flights to secure the victory.  Navy's points came courtesy of Sasha Panyan, who won, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3) over Karol Malirz at No. 1 singles and Steve Nguyen, who posted a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory against Ismail Saadi at the No. 3 flight.

Navy 7, Coppin State 0
The Mids won the doubles point with victories at the Nos. 1 and 3 flights.  The team's No. 3 tandem of Eric Liu and Zach Quattro defeated Ulugbek Abdurakhmonov and Kwaku Agyeman by the score of 6-1 in the first match to finish.  Herrick Legaspi and Nathan Nguyen then posted a 6-4 victory over Liam Murtaugh and Rick Nieke at the No. 1 flight to give the Mids the 1-0 lead.

Navy went on to win all six singles flights in straight sets.
