Daley, Messinese Earn USA Lacrosse All-America Accolades

Alyssa Daley and Emily Messinese were each named Honorable Mention All-Americans by USA Lacrosse.

SPARKS, Md. – USA Lacrosse revealed its NCAA Division I women's All-Americans on Thursday morning and Navy juniors Alyssa Daley and Emily Messinese were honorable mention selections. Daley was named for her success in the draw circle, while Messinese was selected as a midfielder.

It is the second consecutive season that Navy has had someone on the USA Lacrosse All-America list as then-freshman Ava Yovino was an honorable mention selection last year.

A draw control specialist, Daley earned her first postseason all-conference recognition in 2024. The junior finished the season with a Navy school record 191 draw controls, beating the previous record by 38. Daley, who was an Honorable Mention Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American earlier in the year, ranked fourth in the NCAA and second in the Patriot League in draw controls per game, while helping the team lead the NCAA in draw controls percentage (.690) and close out the regular season in second in draw controls per game (19.00). Daley finished the year with nine double-digit draw control performances including three that ranked in Navy's top 5 single-game performances – a career-best 17 against Holy Cross and Army and 16 versus American.

This season, Messinese claimed First Team All-Patriot League distinction for the second time in her career. The junior led Navy with 86 points on a team-high 68 goals, while adding 18 assists, 64 draw controls, 20 ground balls, and six caused turnovers. She ranks in the top 25 in the NCAA in shots on goal per game (9th), goals (13th), shots per game (13th), points (21st), and goals per game (23rd). Messinese, who was an Honorable Mention Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American earlier in the year, ranked in the top 15 in the Patriot League in goals (3rd), goals per game (4th), points (7th), points per game (7th), free position percentage (7th), free position goals per game (9th), and draw controls per game (12th). During the year, she became the 21st player in program history with 100 or more points (currently 152); 15th Mid with 100 or more goals (122); 13th with 100 or more career draws controls (138).

All-Americans were chosen by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff with input from coaches and conferences across the country. In total, forty (40) Division I schools were represented.
