Five Starting Notes
1 – Aidan Kehoe has posted a double-double in the last five games.  That is the longest streak by a Mid since David Robinson had 15 in a row (spanned the 1985-86 and 1986-87 seasons).
2 – Kehoe also stands in eighth place in the NCAA this season (through games of Jan. 13) with a field goal percentage of 65.2 percent. 
3 – Austin Benigni enters the game with 954 career points.  John Carter Jr. was the 27th and most recent Mid to reach 1,000 career points (Jan. 22, 2022).
4 – Navy players have scored 124 career points against the Raiders and Colgate players have scored 114 points against the Mids.  Jeff Woodward leads Colgate with 43 and Austin Benigni is pacing the Mids with 40.
5 – Four of the last six games in the series played in Alumni Hall have been decided by single digits.

Game Information
•    Navy is in Alumni Hall for the only time in a four-game span Wednesday when the Mids play host to Colgate at 7 p.m.
•    The game will be streamed on ESPN+ while both WNAV and WFED will carry the game on the radio.
•    Joe Miller and Mike Heary will call the simulcast.

Attending the Game
•    Only those vehicles driven by someone with a Department of Defense (DoD)-approved identification card will be allowed onto the USNA.
•    Fans without DoD approved vehicle access to the USNA must park outside of The Yard.  The simplest way to do this is to park ($10 per vehicle) at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401).  Enter the blue / west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue.  The free fan shuttle bus will leave from and return to the Blue Angel jet.  Fan shuttle bus hours begin one hour before tip and ends one hour after the conclusion of the game.
•    Fans also can park downtown and walk through the gate one visitors center (52 King George St., Annapolis, MD, 21402) or gate eight.
•    Whether a visitor rides the shuttle bus or walks through one of the USNA gates, everyone ages 18 and over must have a valid picture ID (i.e.: State issued driver's license, student I.D., or a government issued passport). Visitors ages 17 and younger who do not have a valid picture ID must be accompanied by an adult. 

About Colgate 
•    Colgate is the only Patriot League team with a 3-1 record through four games of the league campaign.
•    The Raiders have posted a 3-0 record at home and lost their only road game to date, a 66-60 loss at Bucknell.
•    Colgate won each of its two games last week, defeating Lehigh, 67-62, and Boston U., 87-50.

Series History
•    Colgate leads the all-time series with Navy, 47-30.  
•    The teams met only four times prior to each becoming a member of the Patriot League (1950-51, 1960-61, 1961-62, 1975-76).
•    The Raiders lead the Mids, 19-16, in games played in Annapolis.  This includes an 18-14 advantage in games played in Alumni Hall.
•    Colgate also holds a 39-25 lead in league regular season games.  The Raiders have posted an 18-14 mark against Navy in league games played on The Yard and are 17-13 in the series in Alumni Hall league games.
•    Colgate won both games in the series last season, winning 80-72 in Annapolis and 88-64 in Hamilton.

On This Date
•    Navy has posted a 17-13 record in games played on Jan. 15.  This includes a 4-4 record in Patriot League games.
•    The teams have previous met on Jan. 15 in two seasons.  The Raiders defeated the Mids, 78-76 in 1992 and 67-54 in 1994.  Both of those games were played at Colgate.

Against New York
•    Navy has totaled a 233-189 record in games played against opponents located in New York.

A Look Back (Loyola 75, Navy 74)
•    Navy took a 35-23 lead, but Loyola closed the half on an 11-0 run to close to within 35-34 at the break.
•    The lead would change hands 11 times in the second half including eight times in the last three minutes.
•    The Mids had the ball with a 72-71 lead and 52.1 seconds left. Navy inbounded under the Loyola basket but threw the ball away.  The Mids would commit a foul with 37 seconds left.  
•    Loyola missed the front end of the bonus and Donovan Draper found Jordan Pennick breaking away.  His challenged layup was missed, with Loyola getting the rebound and Navy committing a foul with 28.2 seconds.
•    Loyola made both foul shots to take a 73-72 lead.
•    Austin Benigni was fouled with 12.4 seconds left.  He made both attempts to place Navy in front, 74-73.
•    Loyola missed a shot in the lane, but Braeden Speed grabbed the offensive rebound and scored on the putback with 3.1 seconds left.
•    Benigni's attempt from near halfcourt missed.
•    Aidan Kehoe was 8-8 from the floor in scoring 16 points to go along with 12 rebounds.
•    Navy committed 13 turnovers (led to 16 Loyola points) and forced only six (led to 6 points for the Mids).

A Look Ahead 
•    Navy takes to the road again for a Saturday game at Bucknell (4 p.m.).

Kehoe on Double-Double Run
•    Aidan Kehoe has posted a double-double in the last five games.
•    The last Mid to have as many as five-straight double-doubles was David Robinson who had 15 in a row (last 12 games of 1985-86, first 3 games of 1986-87).
•    Kehoe is tied for first in the Patriot League and tied for 31st in the NCAA with six double-doubles this year.
•    Kehoe's 8-8 effort from the floor at Loyola marked the eighth time a Mid has been perfect from the field with at least eight attempts.  It was the fourth time it was achieved in a league game. 
•    The last to do was Daniel Deaver against Bucknell on Jan. 7, 2022.
•    Kehoe ranks first in the Patriot League and eighth in the NCAA with a field goal percentage of 65.2 percent.

Points Per Game Highs and Lows
•    This year's Mids have one of the better scoring averages than previous Ed DeChellis-coached Navy teams (71.9 ppg).
•    Navy also is allowing opponents to score at a higher rate than most other teams during the DeChellis era (72.5 ppg).

The Flying Mids
•    Navy is trying to play at a faster pace this season.
•    Using the adjusted tempo statistic (possessions per 40 minutes) on KenPom.com, the Mids are playing at their fastest pace during the Ed DeChellis-coached era (68.1 possessions a game, 172nd in the NCAA).
•    Colgate is averaging 66.2 possessions a game to rank 250th.

Navy by President
•    Navy has posted a 63-56 (.529) record under President Joe Biden.
•    The Mids previously compiled a 58-44 (.569) record during Donald Trump's first term as President.

Navy Bench Has Been a Strength
•    The Mids have received an average of at least 20 points a game from their bench since the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
•    Navy ranked fourth in the Patriot League and 149th nationally in bench scoring during the 2023-24 season (20.06 ppg).
•    This year, the reserves scored 45 of the team's 86 points against Penn and 39 of 63 points against Elon.
•    The Mids are fifth in the league and 231st in the NCAA this year with an average of 20.3 bench points per game.

Navy Good Again on the Offensive Boards
•    Navy has been very good over the last number of years at winning the offensive rebound margin.
•    The Mids ranked first in the Patriot League and 40th nationally during the 2023-24 season with an average of 12.45 offensive rebounds per game.
•    Navy stands first in the league and 124th nationally with an average of 11.59 offensive boards a game this year.
•    Aidan Kehoe (3.47 OR/G, 1st PL, 20th NCAA) and Donovan Draper (2.35 OR/G, 5th PL) rank among the league leaders in offensive rebounds.

At the FT Line – Austin Benigni / 2024-25 
•    Benigni ranks 18th in the NCAA for free throws made (92) and 38th in free throws attempted (107). 
•    He also ranks 79th with a free throw percentage of 86.0 percent.
•    Benigni ranks fifth at Navy during the Patriot League era (1991-92 to present) and 21st in program history for the highest career free throw attempts per game average with 369 attempts in 79 games (4.67 fta/g).
•    Benigni ranks among the Navy leaders for career free throw percentage (second, 85.1%).

Kehoe Lately 
•    Aidan Kehoe moved into the regular rotation during Navy's Feb. 21, 2024, game at Loyola and made his first start in the next game against Holy Cross.
•    He had totaled 26 points (1.0 ppg) and 40 rebounds (1.5 rpg) in 26 career games prior to taking to the floor against the Greyhounds.
•    Since then, he has totaled 237 points (10.3 ppg) and 197 rebounds (8.6 rpg).
