BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Navy's Chase Maier has been selected as this week's Patriot League Men's Swimming Rookie of the Week, the league office announced today.

Maier earned the accolade for his efforts during Navy's wins over UMBC (190-101) and William & Mary (192-93) Saturday in Baltimore.

He opened the individual portion of the meet by posting a time of 9:23.08 to win the 1000 free by 18 seconds.  Maier later recorded a time of 4:34.20 to win the 500 free by 3.2 seconds.

Navy will play host to Loyola Friday at 4 p.m.
