ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy men's soccer team (3-6-6, 0-4-2 PL) returns to Patriot League play this Saturday afternoon, heading to in-state rival Loyola (3-9-1, 2-4-0 PL) for a 1 p.m. opening kick at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md.
 
Entering their final three regular-season league games, the Midshipmen are seeking to continue a two-game unbeaten streak after draws against Lafayette and non-conference foe Longwood, while the Greyhounds will look to build off a slide-snapping victory at Colgate. Glenn Clark will have the call on ESPN+.
 
The Kids Are Alright
With rookies Nick Gallucci and Luke Parker scoring in last Saturday's 3-3 draw against Lafayette, it marked the first time two Navy freshmen have scored in the same game since Jacob Williams and Bayne Bentley tallied goals in a 2-1 win over Boston U. on Oct. 20, 2018 … Alongside Will Cawlfield's goal earlier this fall against William & Mary, it also marks the first time that three Navy freshmen have scored in a season since the 2018 campaign when Joe Alex, Collin Armstrong, Bentley and Williams all registered goals.
 
Last Time Out
Fighting back twice with goals from a pair of seniors, Navy pulled out a 2-2 draw against Longwood in its final non-conference contest of the season Tuesday night in Annapolis … Going down midway through the first half, the Mids drew level with Andrew Schug's streaking score at 42' and then battled back after the Lancers took another lead at 59', with Tommy Lockhart finishing off a set-piece in the 68th minute for the Mids' second equalizer of the evening … Longwood's Hinke wrapped up Tuesday with five saves, while Navy's Robert Eaton notched three stops on his end of the field … Navy finishes with a 3-2-4 non-conference record in the regular season, outscoring opponents, 11-9, in those nine games.
 
Navy Notes
The current Navy seniors have gone 20-27-24 in their time in Annapolis, going 9-12-12 in league play and making a pair of Patriot League Tournaments, including winning the 2022 league title as freshmen … The Mids are 6-1-3 all-time when A.J. Schuetz records a point, while Navy has tallied a 5-1-4 mark when Andrew Schug scores … Navy is also 2-1-1 when Wyatt Stevens nets a goal … Only two non-senior goalkeepers have started a game in net for Navy since 2019: Pierce Holbrook (2022, 2023) and Dylan Carmody (2025).
 
Ranking the Mids
Andrew Schug's four goals are tied for eighth in the Patriot League … Duncan Sullivan's 0.80 points per game rank eighth in the league … Robert Eaton's 0.793 save percentage ranks 34th in the nation and fourth in the Patriot League … Eaton's 65 total saves stand 10th in the country (second in PL) while his 5.00 saves per game ranks 16th nationally and second in the league.
 
Scouting Loyola
The Greyhounds have tried to recover following a seven-game winless streak earlier in the season, picking up wins over league foes Holy Cross and Colgate … The 1-0 win at Colgate last Saturday ended a three-game losing streak for Loyola, as Brandon Meminger's second-half goal was aided by Connor O'Keefe's five saves … Charlie Herley paces the team with three goals while Jack Endacott holds the team lead with four assists … O'Keefe leads the team with 22 saves in eight starts, while Dylan Van der Walt has picked up 13 saves in his six appearances in net … Loyola has gone 2-3-1 at home this season … It was announced Monday that the Greyhounds' Meminger was named Patriot League's Defensive Player of the Week and O'Keefe was awarded the league's Goalkeeper of the Week … Loyola was picked fourth in this year's Patriot League Preseason Coaches' Poll, while Jordy Luchies was named to the Patriot League Preseason All-League Team.

Navy is 6-6-4 in the all-time series with Loyola, including a 2-3-2 record when playing Loyola in Baltimore … The Mids have gone 4-5-3 against the Greyhounds since Loyola joined the Patriot League in 2013 … Loyola has outscored Navy through 16 meetings by a 25-21 margin … Navy's last trip to Baltimore saw the teams post a 1-1 draw on Sept. 16, 2023, as Jordy Luchies buried a penalty kick in the eighth minute to give Loyola the lead, but Victor Saade tapped home a rebound in the 43rd minute to equalize the game … Last year's Oct. 5 meeting between the teams in Annapolis saw Navy trail 2-0 with 16 minutes left, but the Mids rattled off three unanswered goals to post a 3-2 comeback victory that featured goals from A.J.
