ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Looking to make a late push for a Patriot League Tournament berth, the Navy men's soccer team (3-6-7, 0-4-3 PL) is set to host Bucknell (8-3-4, 3-2-2 PL) in its final home game of the 2025 season Friday night at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
 
Slated for a 7:05 p.m. opening kick, the Midshipmen will need to win to keep its long-shot postseason dreams alive for another day while the Bison are seeking to lock up a playoff berth before Tuesday's regular-season finale. Friday's contest is set to be streamed on ESPN+ with Dave McHugh on the call.
 
What's at Stake for Navy
Navy will be scoreboard-watching on Friday to keep its hopes alive for a Patriot League Tournament berth heading into next Tuesday's regular-season finale … In addition to needing a win over Bucknell, the Mids also need Lafayette to lose to Boston University and have Loyola either lose or tie against Army in Friday's slate of games … The Mids sit in 10th place in the standings at three points, while Lafayette holds the sixth and final playoff spot at nine points and Loyola's seven points puts the Greyhounds seventh in the league table.
 
No Place Like Home
The Mids have posted an impressive 21-11-17 mark at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility since the start of the 2021 season … Navy has outscored opponents, 70-46, in those 49 games … Head coach Tim O'Donohue is 40-26-22 in his career at Glenn Warner … Senior Andrew Schug has eight goals and two assists in 31 career home games, while fellow senior A.J. Schuetz has tallied five goals and one assist at home over 32 career games at the GWSF … Navy is 3-2-6 at home this season, outscoring opponents by a 15-13 edge at GWSF in those 11 games.
 
The Kids Are Alright
With rookies Nick Gallucci and Luke Parker scoring in the Oct. 18 draw against Lafayette, it marked the first time two Navy freshmen have scored in the same game since Jacob Williams and Bayne Bentley tallied goals in a 2-1 win over Boston U. on Oct. 20, 2018 … Alongside Will Cawlfield's goal earlier this fall against William & Mary, it also marks the first time that three Navy freshmen have scored in a season since the 2018 campaign when Joe Alex, Collin Armstrong, Bentley and Williams all registered goals … Scoring another goal in the draw at Loyola, Gallucci is the first Navy freshman with multiple goals in a season since Wyatt Stevens netted four tallies last year.
 
Last Time Out
Renewing a local Patriot League rivalry, Navy came out with a 1-1 draw against Loyola on Saturday in Baltimore, Md. … A scoreless first half gave way to an offensive second stanza, as the 58th-minute score from freshman Nick Gallucci gave the Midshipmen the lead, but a furious push from the Greyhounds afterwards eventually allowed Tyler Flynn to net the tying goals with just under two minutes left in the game … While both teams created a late rush in the closing minute-plus of the contest, the two sides would end in a draw that had Robert Eaton make five saves and Connor O'Keefe record one stop.
 
Navy Notes
The current Navy seniors have gone 20-27-25 in their time in Annapolis, going 9-12-13 in league play and making a pair of Patriot League Tournaments, including winning the 2022 league title as freshmen … The Mids are 6-1-3 all-time when A.J. Schuetz records a point, while Navy has tallied a 5-1-4 mark when Andrew Schug scores … Navy is also 2-1-1 when Wyatt Stevens nets a goal … Only two non-senior goalkeepers have started a game in net for Navy since 2019: Pierce Holbrook (2022, 2023) and Dylan Carmody (2025).

Holding an 8-3-4 overall mark and a 3-2-2 league record, the Bison recovered from a road loss at Lehigh two weeks ago by pulling out a 2-0 midweek win at Saint Joseph's in their final non-conference match and then posting a scoreless draw against league-leading American on Saturday … Bucknell has 27 goals thus far from 11 different goal-scorers to rank first in the PL in goals scored … Drew Roskos leads the squad with a league-best six goals, followed by Jack Lucas with five goals … Both Roskos and Lucas have a team-best 13 points, while Cade Whitmire holds a team-high four assists … Starting 14 of Bucknell's 15 games, Freddie Lapworth has tallied 42 saves and ranks third in the league with five shutouts … Bucknell averages the eight-fewest fouls in the nation at 8.47 fouls per game, while the Bison's 6.60 shots on goal per game ranks 19th nationally … The Bison can also clinch a Patriot League Tournament berth with a win outright or with a tie against Navy combined with a Loyola loss or draw against Army.

All soccer contests at Glenn Warner will be free of charge, as Fans 18 and over need a government-issued photo ID. Fans are reminded that the general public does not have access to drive their vehicles on to the U.S. Naval Academy. Fans may park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for a fee and take a shuttle that will run every 10 minutes starting one hour before the game and will continue running until one hour after the game is completed. Enter the Stadium's Gate 5 off Taylor Ave. to park. Pedestrians may also walk through the Naval Academy's Gate 1 or Gate 8. Dogs are not permitted inside the Glenn Warner Soccer Complex.
