ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy swimming and diving teams (men: 3-0; women: 2-1) start a busy November with a Saturday meet against George Washington (both 1-3) at the Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center in Alexandria, Va. The meet starts at 11:30 a.m.

Navy Men
The Mids improved their record to 3-0 on the young season with a 164-125 victory over Loyola on Oct. 11. Navy recorded 13 event wins to earn the victory.
Ben Denman-Grimm won the 50 and 100 free races and
Anthony Sciulli recorded victories in both diving events. Sciulli was named the league's diver of the week for his efforts that included him qualifying for the NCAA Zone Diving Championship in both events,
Navy Women
Navy tallied a 153-136 win over Loyola two weeks ago to make their record 2-1 through the first two weeks of the young season. The Mids came away with 13 event victories against the Greyhounds.
Lauren Walsh placed first in the 100 breast and 200 IM,
Sarah Eldridge won the 500 and 1000 free races and
Mackenzie Kim swept the two diving boards. Kim qualified for the NCAA Zine Diving Championship in the three-meter event and missed advancing to the meet on the one-meter board by less than seven points. She earned her 11th Patriot League Diver-of-the-Week accolade in her career for her performance against Loyola.
George Washington Men
George Washington has won each of the last five and eight of the last nine Atlantic 10 Conference titles (second place in 2019-20).
The Revolutionaries began the 2025-26 season with a 218-81 loss to Virginia Tech. George Washington then traveled to Atlanta where they competed in an eight-team bracket format of dual meets between combined men's and women's teams. The team first lost to Georgia (492-289), lost to Minnesota (573-213) and then beat Army (398-388) to place seventh in the field.
The Revolutionaries posted a 6-3 record last season.
Navy defeated George Washington, 157-135, last year on The Yard. The Mids won the first five events of the meet and totaled 12 victories on the day. This includes wins by returners
Dean Jones, 1000 free;
Ben Irwin, 100 back;
Gavin Green, 100 breast; Stephen Aquirre, 100 free;
Will De La Garza, 200 back; and
Michael Phillips, 200 breast. The lone swimmer from George Washington who won an event last season and is on the roster this year is David Nagy, who won the 100 fly.
The Mids have won 14-straight duals against George Washington (since 1999-00) and posted a 17-1 record in the all-time series.
George Washington Women
The Revolutionaries have placed first at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in each of the last four and five of the last six seasons (fourth place in 2020-21).
George Washington's lone women's only meet of the season was a 211-89 loss to Virginia Tech.
George Washington compiled a 7-2 record last season.
The Revolutionaries registered a 158-142 victory over Navy last year in Annapolis. The meet was not decided until George Washington placed first in the meet-closing 200 free relay. The visitors won six of the last seven swimming events to emerge with the win.
Returning event winners for Navy are
Maddie Koutavas, 100 breast; Kim, one-meter diving; and Walsh, 200 breast. Back for George Washington are Ava Topolewski, who won the 200, 500 and 1000 free events; and Colleen MacWilliams, who won the 200 back and 400 IM races.
Last year's result ended a seven-meet winning streak in the series by the Mids (2005-06 through 2023-24). Navy holds a 17-5-1 lead in the all-time series.
