Marlee Heaven Leads Trio of Mids on All-Patriot League Teams

Jessica Black and Helen Bonner pick up All-PL Third Team honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Patriot League made its year-end awards announcement on Friday and the Navy women's soccer team was represented with a trio of All-Patriot League honorees. Senior forward Marlee Heaven highlighted the press release as she was selected to the All-Patriot League Second Team, while the freshmen duo of midfielder Jessica Black and Helen Bonner picked up spots on the All-Patriot League Third Team. All three players are first-time recipients of year-end league honors.

Heaven caps off her four-year career with her best statistical season as she finished the 2025 campaign with nine goals, three assists and 21 points, all of which are single-season career-highs. Suiting up and starting 18 games for the Mids this fall, she showcased her clutch gene with five game-winning goals, a total that had her at or near the top of the NCAA Division I standings for a majority of the season. Among Patriot League competitors, Heaven finished the regular season tied for second in goals, second in game-winning goals, third in total points and tied for 12th in assists. For her career, the Rockville, Maryland native found the back of the net for 20 goals to go along with five assists for 45 combined points. In the all-time program record books, Heaven will finish in a tie for seventh with nine career game-winning goals.

Black and Bonner made immediate impacts on the Navy program this season as the duo broke training camp in the starting lineup and never looked back. After both of the freshman played over 75 minutes of action in the team's season opener at Robert Morris on August 14, Bonner was the first player to break into the scoring column as she netted a goal at Sacred Heart on August 31 in Navy's 2-1 victory. The McLean, Virginia native would consistently join the offensive rush up from her wing defender position at various points throughout game action and went on to tally a goal and assist in the Mids' Patriot League opener on September 20 versus Boston University in the team's 3-1 win. Bonner scored her third and final goal of the season on October 19 at Bucknell as part of a 1-1 draw with the Bison. For the year, Bonner played and started 18 games and saw a team-high 1,436 minutes of action with an offensive line of three goals, one assist and 17 shots.

Black was right there with Bonner throughout her debut campaign as she recorded her first collegiate goal on the road at VCU on September 4 before coming back a little over two weeks later and doing the same against Boston University on September 20. The Cedaredge, Colorado native's first career assist came on a Kayana Adlam goal versus Lehigh on October 1 during Navy's 2-2 tie. The speedy midfielder later added her second assist of the year at American on October 15 and her third goal of 2025 at Loyola on October 29. Regularly seeing 75-plus minutes of action per game, Black finished the season with 1,347 minutes of playing time over 17 games (all starts) and scoring three goals with two assists to go along with 31 shots.

Navy finished its 2025 campaign on Wednesday with a 9-6-4 record and a 2-3-4 mark in Patriot League play.
