#8 Rifle Set to Face #9 Alaska Fairbanks, #16 Army on Sunday

The Midshipmen will take on the Nanooks and Black Knights on Sunday at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The #8 Navy rifle team (5-2, 1-1 GARC) hits the road for the first time in 2025-26 as the Midshipmen travel to West Point to take on #9 Alaska Fairbanks (4-0) and #16 Army (3-5, 0-2 GARC) at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center. The match is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. and live results will be available.
 
Scouting the Midshipmen
Freshman Tyler Wee leads the team in all three disciplines. The rookie leads the way with an 1187.8 average in aggregate thanks to a team-best 598.5 in air rifle and a 589.3 in smallbore. Last time out, T. Wee set the school record in aggregate with an 1193 thanks to shooting the program's first ever perfect 600 in air rifle.
 
Senior Parker Haydin is second in smallbore, air rifle, and aggregate. Haydin has a 588.8 average in smallbore, while holding a 596.8 mean score in air rifle. He is just 2.3 points back of T. Wee in aggregate average with an 1185.5.
 
Junior Isabella Baldwin rounds out the top three for the Midshipmen. She has an average of 584.8 in smallbore to go along with a 596.3 in air rifle for an 1181.0 in aggregate scoring.
 
Junior Ryan Wee rounds out Navy's top five in smallbore and aggregate. The older Wee brother is fourth in smallbore with an average score of 580.5, while also coming in fourth in aggregate scoring with an 1165.8. R. Wee has an average of 585.3 in air rifle. Senior team captain Catherine Dely is in the top five for all three scoring categories. Dely is fifth in smallbore and aggregate with averages of 573.5 and 1164.5, respectively. She comes in fourth in air rifle with a score of 591.0.
 
Senior Grace Shepard is fifth for the Midshipmen in air rifle with an average score of 590.0. Additionally, she has a mean score of 569.3 in smallbore and an 1159.3 in aggregate.
 
Senior Devin Uhrich, along with junior Chelsie Glover combine for Navy's next two shooters. Glover is just outside of the top five in each category with averages of 573.5 (smallbore), 588.0 (air rifle), and 1161.5 (aggregate). Uhrich follows Glover with scores of 571.8 (smallbore), 587.0 (air rifle), and 1158.8 (aggregate).
 
Freshmen Preston Everette (570.5 SB; 579.5 AR; 1150.0 Agg), Audrey Hart (545.5 SB; 582.8 AR; 1128.3 Agg.), and Bennett Hilgenberg (531.0 SB; 546.8 AR; 1077.8 Agg.) round out the scoring for the Midshipmen.
 
Scouting the Opposition
Alaska Fairbanks:
The Nanooks enter the weekend with a 4-0 record in dual meets this season. UAF opened the season in mid-October by defeating Ohio State in back-to-back competitions. The Nanooks claimed a 4722-4714 victory in the opening match before posting a 4740-4705 win the following day. In its last time out, Alaska Fairbanks competed against Ole Miss (Nov. 8) and UT Martin (Nov. 9). UAF posted a 4716-4709 win against the Rebels, while recording a 4714-4627 victory against the Skyhawks. Alaska Fairbanks will take on Army in a dual on Saturday before taking on the Black Knights and Midshipmen on Sunday.
 
Army: The Black Knights enter the weekend with a 3-5 overall record, including an 0-2 mark in the Great America Rifle Conference. In the opening weekend of the season, Army defeated The Citadel (W, 4689-3986) before going 2-1 against Georgia Southern (L, 4731-4670), North Georgia (W, 4670-4618), and Schreiner (W, 4670-4361). The Black Knights dropped matches to Nebraska (L, 4749-4685) and Kentucky (L, 4747-4685) to close out October, while falling to Air Force (L, 4707-4695) and Memphis (L, 4732-4647) in November.
 
Last Time Out – vs. Akron (Nov. 15, 2025)
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Tyler Wee became the first Midshipmen in program history to shoot a 600 in air rifle in a competition, leading #9 Navy to a 4739-4691 victory over #12 Akron. T. Wee's air rifle record helped the team post a new program record of 2385 in the discipline, while his school-record 1193 aggregate led the Mids to a new team-best 4739 in combined shooting.
 
As a team, the Midshipmen started the match with a 2354 in smallbore. The total tied for the second-best score in the discipline in Navy history. The Mids followed that score with a new program record tally of 2385 in air rifle to give the team a new school-record score of 4739 aggregate.
 
T. Wee opened the day with a 593 in smallbore, tying his season-best performance he shot earlier in the year against #2 Kentucky. The freshman followed that performance with the first 600 in Navy rifle history, giving the rookie an individual program-record tally of 1193 on the day.
 
He was followed by Parker Haydin and Isabella Baldwin. The duo both shot aggregate scores in the 1180s. Haydin shot his third 1186 in four meets on the year, while Baldwin posted an 1181 for her second performance in the 1180s on the season. Haydin finished with a 588 in smallbore to go along with a 598 in air rifle, while Baldwin posted a 586 in smallbore and a 595 in air.
 
Ryan Wee used a career-high 587 in smallbore and a 584 in air rifle to notch a season-high score of 1171. Chelsie Glover tied a season and career high with an aggregate score of 1163. The junior posted scores of 574 in smallbore and 589 in air rifle to match her career-high aggregate. Catherine Dely used scores of 570 (smallbore) and 591 (air rifle) to post an 1161 on the day. Her 591 in air rifle marked the third time this season the senior shot in the 590s in the event.
 
Preston Everette and Grace Shepard matched one another with an 1157 on the day. Everette registered his new career high thanks to a season-best 576 in smallbore and matching his season-high 581 in air rifle. Shepard registered scores of 565 (smallbore) and 592 (air rifle) for her 1157. Her performance in air rifle was just two points shy of matching her career high.
 
Audrey Hart and Devin Uhrich both tallied 1149, while Bennett Hilgenberg rounded out the scoring with a 1091. Hart set her new collegiate best total thanks to a season-high 563 in smallbore and a 586 in air rifle. Uhrich posted scores of 564 (smallbore) and 585 (air rifle) for his 1149. Hilgenberg used a season-high 560 in air rifle to give himself a new career-high 1091 aggregate score.

Following Sunday's match, Navy will have some time off from competitions to train in for its spring competitions. The Midshipmen open up the second half of their schedule at home against West Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range.
