BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a career-best performance on the road on Sunday at the University of South Florida, Zoe Mesuch was recognized on Monday with the Patriot League Rookie of the Week and NAAA Student-Athlete of the Week honors, respectively. 

The freshman sharp-shooter from Clintondale, New York, led Navy on the road at South Florida with a career-best 21 points on 8-14 shooting from the field and a 5-9 mark from three-point range. Taking on a USF team that was picked first in the AAC this preseason after winning the conference in 2024-25, Mesuch started fast with 13 points in the first half and continued to knock down shots as Navy drew even as late as 5:07 in the third quarter, 52-52. The Mids trailed by just six points going into the fourth before the Bulls pulled away down the stretch. In addition to her 21 points, the freshman tied for the team-lead with three assists.

This is the second Patriot League Rookie of the Week nod of Mesuch's young career as she was previously selected as the league's top rookie on Nov. 17 following her efforts against Longwood and the University of Florida.


At the conclusion of Navy's 11-game non-conference slate, Mesuch stands second overall in the Patriot League with 2.5 made three-pointers a game and 15th in scoring with an average of 11.4 points per game. Among all NCAA DI players, her three-pointers per game average ranks 84th nationally.

Mesuch and the Mids are on hiatus from the hardwood for the next nine days before kicking off Patriot League play on the road at Boston University on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Tip-off at BU's Case Gym is set for 2 p.m.
