•    Colgate enters the week with an overall record of 11-16.  The Raiders have compiled a 7-3 record in home games.

•    The Raiders saw their two-game winning streak end Saturday with a 93-91 double overtime game loss at Boston U.

Series History
•    The teams first met Dec. 29, 1950, in Raleigh, N.C.  Colgate won a 63-59 decision that day.  It would be the first of only four games played between the teams prior to each becoming members of the Patriot League.
•    Colgate leads the overall series with Navy, 48-20.  The Raiders have posted a 27-12 record against the Mids in games played in Hamilton.

A Look Back (Navy 61-54)
•    There was scant separation of the teams until Army took a 41-34 lead four minutes into the second half.
•    Navy answered with a 15-0 run to take a 49-41 lead with eight minutes still to play.
•    Back came the Black Knights to take a 52-51 lead, but the Mids scored the next four points to hold a 55-52 advantage with 2:33 left.
•    Army cut the margin down to 55-54 with 61 seconds remaining.  Donovan Draper swooped in for an offensive rebounded after a missed foul shot, and he was fouled.  Draper made both free throws to make the score 57-54 with 48 seconds left.  
•    Army's offense was one shot and done as Austin Benigni grabbed a defensive board with 14 seconds left. He was fouled and made both attempts to stretch the lead to 59-54.
•    Navy was 16-25 from the foul line in the game and Army was 10-13.
•    The Mids held a 40-31 lead on the glass, including a 15-9 edge in offensive boards.  That allowed Navy to have a 19-3 advantage in second-chance points.
•    Benigni scored 21 points, Draper finished with nine points and eight caroms, Aidan Kehoe had 11 boards and four steals and Jordan Pennick scored 17 points.

A Look Ahead 
•    Navy is back in Annapolis Sunday and will start the final seven days of the regular season with a 2 p.m. game against Holy Cross.

Benigni Scores 1,000th Point
•     Austin Benigni became the 27th Mid to score 1,000 career points during Navy's Jan. 18 game at Bucknell.
•    Benigni is in 24th place for the most career points by a Mid with 1,164.  

Pennick on a Good Run
•    Jordan Pennick has scored in double figures in six of Navy's seven Patriot League wins and two times in Navy's seven league losses.
•    Pennick totaled a career-high 20 points in Navy's Jan. 26 game at Army.  He was 4-6 from three-point range and 5-8 from the floor in scoring 15 second-half points. 
•    He scored all 17 of his points in the second half Jan. 29 at Lehigh.  Pennick was 5-7 from three-point range and 6-8 from the floor in the second half.
•    Pennick scored 12 points Feb. 5 at Boston U. and then 14 points Feb. 8 at Lafayette.
•    He also tallied 17 points and five rebounds Feb. 15 against Army.
•    He is averaging 13.8 points (110 total) and 4.1 rebounds a game (33) over the last eight games.  Pennick is shooting 41.5 percent (39-94) from the floor and 35.1 percent (20-57) from three-point land in this span.

DeChellis On Top Spot for Navy Coaches
•    Ed DeChellis set the school record for the most games as a Navy head coach Feb. 12.  The Lehigh game was his 418th on the sideline, which is one more than Ben Carnevale's 20-year total.
•    Navy's Jan. 2 win over American moved Ed DeChellis into third place for the most wins as a Navy head coach.
•    DeChellis coached in his 29th Army-Navy game on Feb. 15.  That tied him with Navy's Don DeVoe for the most games as a head coach from either school in the series.
•    DeChellis has posted a 9-5 record in Star Games.

Davis Leads Patriot League Coaches
•    Navy assistant coach Emmett Davis is in his 30th    season as a Patriot League coach. That leads all men's basketball coaches for the most Patriot League seasons in a career.
•    Davis also coached at Navy for five seasons (1987-91)
    prior to the Mids joining the Patriot League.
•    The Patriot League is in its 35th season of sponsoring men's basketball (began 1990-91).
•    Davis also ranks third among active assistant coaches for the most years as an assistant at one school.
•    Wednesday's game will be the 63rd Navy-Colgate game in which Davis has been on the sidelines.

Navy Good Again on the Offensive Boards
•    Navy has been very good over the last number of years at winning the offensive rebound margin.
•    The Mids ranked first in the Patriot League and 40th nationally during the 2023-24 season with an average of 12.45 offensive rebounds per game.
•    Navy stands first in the league and 108th nationally with an average of 11.52 offensive boards a game this year.
•    Aidan Kehoe (3.74 OR/G, 1st PL, 8th NCAA) and Donovan Draper (2.15 OR/G, 4th PL) rank among the league leaders in offensive rebounds.

Second-Chance Points 
•    Navy has regularly turned those second-chance opportunities into points. 
•    The Mids have scored more second-chance points than their foes in 11 of the last 12 games.  Navy has totaled 137 second-chance points (11.4 ppg) and allowed 73 (6.0 ppg) in this span.

Benigni's 10+ Point Scoring Streaks
•    Austin Benigni saw his streak of 26 games with scoring in double figures come to an end when he scored eight points in 18 minutes of playing time Nov. 25 against Washington (Md.).  
•    His run of 26 games is tied for fifth place for the longest streak of scoring in double figures in school history.
•    Benigni enters the Feb. 19 game at Colgate having scored in double figures in 11-straight games and in 17 of the last 18 games.  The only outlier in this span was a nine-point game at Holy Cross.  He has scored 337 points (18.7 ppg) over this span.

Benigni's 20+ Point Scoring Streaks
•    Twice this season Austin Benigni has scored at least 20 points in three consecutive games.  
•    He opened the year with 23 points at Saint Joseph's, 34 against Harvard and 23 against Rider.
•    Then from Jan. 15-22, he totaled 25 points against Colgate, 23 at Bucknell and 21 vs. Boston.
•    The last Mid to score at least 20 points in as many as three-straight games was Cam Davis, who did it in three games in a row during the 2020-21 season.

•    Austin Benigni has scored 491 points this season.
•    This is after he totaled 526 points in 2023-24.

•    Austin Benigni ranks first in the Patriot League and fourth in the NCAA for free throws made (157).
•    He ranks second in the league and 16th nationally in free throws attempted (180). 
•    He also ranks second in the league and 47th nationally with a free throw percentage of 87.2 percent.
•    Benigni ranks second at Navy during the Patriot League era (1991-92 to present) and 15th in program history for the highest career free throw attempts per game average with 442 attempts in 89 games (4.97 fta/g).
•    He was 17-17 from the free throw line against Harvard, which broke the Navy and Patriot League record for the most made free throws without a miss in a game.
•    Benigni ranks among the Navy leaders for career free throw percentage.  He currently is first with a career mark of 85.7 percent.

Benigni Leading in Points and Assists
•     Austin Benigni typically has led the Mids in either points or assists –– and occasionally both –– in a game since the start of the 2023-24 season.
•     Benigni is on pace to become the third Mid to lead the team in total points and assists in multiple seasons since assists began being tracked with the 1972-73 season.
•     Benigni has become the eighth Mid with 1,000 points and 300 assists in a career.
•     Benigni also has posted the second 400-point, 100-assist season of his career and the 10th by a Mid.
•    Benigni enters the game tied for first in the Patriot League in scoring and ranked second in assists.
•    Since the league expanded to 10 teams starting with the 2013-14 season, a player has finished among the top-three in both statistical rankings three times.

Kehoe's Double-Double Run
•    Aidan Kehoe saw his streak of double-doubles end at five when he registered six points and 11 rebounds Jan. 15 against Colgate.
•    The last Mid to have as many as five-straight double-doubles was David Robinson, who had 15 in a row (last 12 games of 1985-86, first 3 games of 1986-87).
•    Kehoe is second in the Patriot League and tied for 40th in the NCAA with eight double-doubles this year.
•    He has missed a double-double by one rebound in three additional games.

Kehoe on the Boards
•    Navy has scored on 37 of the 59 possessions (62.7%) in which Aidan Kehoe has grabbed an offensive rebound since the start of the 2025 Patriot League season.
•    Kehoe currently ranks second at Navy for the most offensive rebounds in a season.

Kehoe Lately
•    Aidan Kehoe moved into the regular rotation during Navy's Feb. 21, 2024, game at Loyola and made his first start in the next game against Holy Cross.
•    He had totaled 26 points (1.0 ppg) and 40 rebounds (1.5 rpg) in 26 career games prior to taking to the floor against the Greyhounds.
•    Since then, he has totaled 305 points (9.3 ppg) and 309 rebounds (9.4 rpg). 

Pennick Lately
•    Jordan Pennick had appeared in 16 games prior to Navy's Feb. 17, 2024, game at Boston U., and totaled 26 points (1.6 ppg) and 18 rebounds (1.1 rpg).
•    Since then, he has scored 313 points (9.2 ppg), made 55 three-point baskets (1.61 fgm/g) and grabbed 118 rebounds (3.5 rpg).
