ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Four members of the Navy men's tennis team registered a pair of wins as the Mids recorded their second Patriot League victory of the season, a 7-0 win over Boston University (0-8, 0-1), Sunday in Boston.  The Mids (14-13, 2-0) also lost a 4-3 decision to Temple (8-6) in Annapolis.

Four of the last seven Navy-Temple matches have had the final score of 4-3.

The Terriers currently have a roster of just five players, which meant the Mids had to win only one of the two doubles matches to earn the available point as there couldn't be a match at No. 3 doubles.  The Boston roster limitations also meant Navy already held a 1-0 lead before the match began due to the Terriers not being able to enter a player into the No. 6 singles match.

Navy won both of the doubles matches by the score of 6-1 to take the 2-0 lead.  Luke Garner and Jake Young defeated Jaydon Barki and Gabe Brown at No. 1 doubles, while Aniketh Ayinala and J.J. Etterbeek recorded a victory over Cole Knutsen and Ege Topkoc at the No. 2 flight.

Eetterbeek then defeated Jonah Dickson, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 3 singles.  He was followed by George Cutone recording a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 5 flight to secure the overall victory.  

Ayinala also posted a straight-set victory as he beat Topkoc, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 singles.  Nguyen and Young both won three-set matches to complete the victory.  Nguyen defeated Brown, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5), at No. 1 and Young held off Knutsen, 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-3), at No. 2

The doubles point between the Mids and the Owls was decided when the third match finished.  Temple first won at No. 3 doubles, a 6-2 victory for Aayush Bhat and Martim Marujo over Graydon Buckingham and Zach Quattro.  Navy's No. 1 tandem of Herrick Legaspi and Charlie Spencer answered with a 6-3 win against Maj Najvirt Kolarc and Dante Russo.  The Mids earned the point when their No. 2 duo of Jason Kim and Tommy Kim defeated Erden Er and Pranav Nemani by the score of 6-4.

Legaspi made the score 2-0 when he defeated Marujo, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.  It became a 3-0 lead for Navy after Spencer won his No. 4 match over Bhat by the score of 6-2, 6-3.

The Owls responded by winning each of the remaining four matches to rally for the victory.

Navy will face Patriot League opponents Lehigh (at Lehigh) and Lafayette (at Navy) on Saturday.
