HAMILTON, N.Y. – Securing its 15th-straight appearance in the league's semifinals, the No. 3-seed Navy women's tennis team (17-11) posted a 4-0 victory over sixth-seeded Loyola (13-6) in Friday's quarterfinal round to open up the 2025 Patriot League Tournament at the J.W. Abrahamson Tennis Courts in Hamilton, N.Y.
 
With the win, the Midshipmen earned a spot in Saturday's semifinal round and a 2 p.m. rematch with No. 2 Boston University, continuing Navy's pursuit of a second-straight league title.
 
After sophomore 
Manci Pal and freshman 
Emma Gu opened the quarterfinal showdown with a 6-3 win over the Greyhounds' Jessica Bodewes and Christine Richiez at the No. 2 spot, the Mids clinched the doubles point with the top pairing of senior 
Emily Tannenbaum and sophomore 
Olivia Fermo defeating the duo of Loyola's Lauren Manwiller and Emma Roeck in at 7-5 battle.
 
Tannenbaum then put Navy up 2-0 with her dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory against Richiez in the No. 1 singles flight, while Gu put the Mids on the edge of advancing when she beat Bodewes, 6-1, 6-0, on the fifth court.
 
Sending Navy to the semifinals was senior captain 
Kate Lee, who posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Emi Shivkumar on the sixth court for her eighth-straight singles victory this spring.
 
With further play abandoned, freshmen 
Grace Li and 
Molly Bellia and senior 
Parvathi Shanker had won their first sets and were ahead in their second sets when Lee clinched the semifinal berth.

• Navy is now 18-0 in the all-time series with Loyola, going 4-0 in the postseason against the Greyhounds.
• Navy is now 23-13 all-time in the Patriot League Tournament and 13-7 when playing neutral-site tournament games.
• Along with Lee's eight-straight singles wins, Tannenbaum has won her last 12 singles matches.
• Tannenbaum and Fermo have won five-straight doubles matches.
• Tannenbaum matches her program single-season records for overall singles wins and No. 1-flight singles wins with her victory against Richiez.
• Tannenbaum needs one more win to match the program single-season record for dual-meet victories.
