ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After posting back-to-back draws to begin the season, the Navy men's soccer team will look to earn its first victory of the campaign this Labor Day weekend with a pair of home matches at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.
 
The undefeated Midshipmen (0-0-2) kick off the holiday weekend by hosting regional foe Howard (0-2-0) in a 7 p.m. contest Friday night, before turning around to play visiting Niagara (1-0-0) in a Labor Day Monday fixture that is now set for 1 p.m. Both games are slated to be aired on ESPN+ with Joe Miller on the call.
 
Sullivan Named PL Midfielder of the Week
After collecting a goal and an assist in the season opener, Navy sophomore Duncan Sullivan was named the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week on Monday … Registering the first multi-point game of his collegiate career, the midfielder tallied a three-point effort in the Midshipmen's 2-2 draw with Mount St. Mary's on Thursday evening, finishing with 82 minutes played … The award makes Sullivan the first Navy player to win Patriot League Midfielder of the Week since Wasswa Robbins on Sept. 9, 2024.
 
No Place Like Home
The Mids have posted an outstanding 18-9-13 mark at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility since the start of the 2021 season … Navy has outscored opponents, 58-36, in those 40 games … Head coach Tim O'Donohue is 37-24-18 in his career at Glenn Warner … Seniors A.J. Schuetz and Tommy Lockhart paced the Mids with two goals apiece at home last season … Schuetz has now tallied five goals and one assist at home over 23 career games at the GWSF, while fellow senior Andrew Schug has five goals and an assist in 22 career home games.
 
Last Time Out
In a game that saw quality over quantity in scoring chances, Navy used a first-half goal to earn itself a 1-1 draw with non-conference foe William & Mary on Monday night in Annapolis … While a first-half goal from local rookie Will Cawlfield provided the Mids an early lead in back-to-back contests and junior Dylan Carmody held down the net in his first collegiate start, another lapse in the 70th minute resulted in Navy posting its second-straight draw to begin the 2025 season … The two-game undefeated streak to the season is Navy's first such streak since 2021.
 
Navy Notes
The current Navy seniors have gone 17-21-20 in their time in Annapolis, going 9-8-10 in league play and making a pair of Patriot League Tournaments, including winning the 2022 league title as freshmen … The Mids are 6-1-3 all-time when Schuetz records a point, while Navy has tallied a 4-1-2 mark when Schug scores … Navy is also 2-1-1 when Wyatt Stevens nets a goal … With Cawlfield's tally on Monday, Navy needs one other rookie to register a goal to have multiple freshmen score in a season for the first time since the fall 2020/spring 2021 campaign, when both David Jackson and Baba Kallie scored as plebes … Only two non-senior goalkeepers have started a game in net for Navy since 2019, Pierce Holbrook (2022, 2023) and Dylan Carmody (2025).

The Bison enter Friday at 0-2 on the season after dropping a 2-1 decision at UNC Asheville to begin the fall and following it with a 2-0 loss to San Diego State at home … The Bison entered the season losing three of the top four scorers from 2024 … Last year ended in a 2-11-3 record for Howard, going 2-5-1 in NEC action … Returning forward Daniil Kaban was named to the NEC All-Rookie Team last season, racking up five points in his debut campaign … Howard was picked eighth in the NEC preseason coaches poll.
