Women’s Rugby Faces Lindenwood on the Road

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's rugby team (1-1, 1-1 NIRA) hits the road on Saturday to take on Lindenwood (1-1, 1-1 NIRA) in what will be the first meeting of the teams in St. Charles, Mo. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET / 11 a.m. CT at Hunter Stadium.

Last Time Out: vs. Dartmouth
Navy dropped its first game of the season to National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA)-powerhouse Dartmouth, 52-7, last weekend in Annapolis.
 
The Big Green jumped out to a quick 19-0 lead with three tries in the first 15 minutes. The Mids scored their lone try when Arica Spencer ran in for five points in the 30th minute. Meagan Alvarez scored in the second-straight game with a conversion kick to cut the deficit to 12 (19-7).
 
Navy Notes
  • Navy was the first team to score a try against Dartmouth this season.
  • Spencer's try was the first of her collegiate career.
  • Alvarez leads the team with 16 total points. She has served as Navy's primary kicker as she has totaled five conversions and two penalty kicks.
  • The Mids have been successful on 77.8% (7 of 9) of their conversion attempts this season.
  • Navy has played 27 athletes through its first two games.
 
Scouting Lindenwood
  • Lindenwood enters the game with a 1-1 record, having earned a 34-22 win over Army in its season opener before it fell to Harvard, 26-17, last week.
  • The Lions are competing in their first season in the NIRA.
  • Lindenwood posted a 14-2 record in 15s play last season, highlighted by a 19-15 victory over Life in the Collegiate Rugby Association of America (CRAA) D1 Elite Championship.
  • Three Lions — Gabby Bryant, Millie Gibson and He'Lena Dou'Ble — scored tries in last week's loss to Harvard.
 
Navy vs. Lindenwood
  • Saturday's game marks the first 15s meeting between Navy and Lindenwood.
The teams previously met in the first round of the 2025 Women's 7s Premier National Championship where the Lions defeated the Mids, 31-0.
