ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy volleyball players Arleigh Hanson and Ellen Gundlach each earned a weekly award today as Hanson was named the Naval Academy Athletic Association Athlete of the Week and Gundlach was selected as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

Hanson was named to the all-tournament team at the Utah Valley Invitational this past weekend.  The setter posted an assist / dig double-double in each of Navy's three matches and averaged 7.69 assists and 3.38 digs per set over the course of the three matches.  She first totaled a career-high 48 assists, a career-best 19 digs and a career-high 4 blocks in a five-set loss to Boise State.  Later that same day, Hanson tallied 40 assists, 11 digs and 3 blocks in a four-set victory over 2025 Western Athletic Conference-favorite and weekend-host Utah Valley.  She ended the weekend with 22 assists and 14 digs in a four-set win over Montana.

Gundlach saw limited playing time in the season opener against the Broncos, then registered 12 kills and a .348 attack percentage against the Wolverines.  Half of those kills came in an epic 39-37 fourth set victory by Navy.  She closed the weekend with 16 kills and 4 blocks during the victory over the Grizzlies.  Gundlach averaged 3.11 kills and hit .308 on the trip.

Navy will be home this weekend for the 14th playing of the Kristen Dickmann Invitational.
