Men’s Soccer Renews Rivalry with Air Force on Tuesday Night

Navy Hosts Service Academy Rival in First Meeting Between the Teams Since 2018

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Another rivalry match awaits the Navy men's soccer team (2-3-4, 0-1-1 PL) on Tuesday night, as the Midshipmen host fellow service academy Air Force (1-5-2, 0-0-0 WAC) in a 7 p.m. contest at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

Facing each other for the first time since a 2018 meeting at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, the Midshipmen and Falcons will both look to bounce back following road losses over the weekend. Tuesday's game can be streamed on ESPN+ with Joe Miller calling the action.

No Place Like Home
The Mids have posted an impressive 20-10-15 mark at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility since the start of the 2021 season … Navy has outscored opponents, 63-39, in those 45 games … Head coach Tim O'Donohue is 39-25-20 in his career at Glenn Warner … Senior Andrew Schug has seven goals and two assists in 27 career home games, while fellow senior A.J. Schuetz has tallied five goals and one assist at home over 28 career games at the GWSF.

Last Time Out
Despite a strong second-half push, Navy could not overcome a lapse late in the first half of Saturday afternoon's 1-0 loss to Boston University at Nickerson Field in Boston, Mass. … While senior goalkeeper Robert Eaton kept the Mids in the game multiple times with his five-save contest, a goal by Andrea Di Blasio at 35' off a blocked shot proved to be the deciding factor in the Terriers' third-straight victory over the Mids … Dueling with Eaton's five saves on the other end, William Clavier ended the day with a three-save shutout … Eaton has now registered four-or-more saves in four-straight contests.

Navy Notes
The current Navy seniors have gone 19-24-22 in their time in Annapolis, going 9-9-11 in league play and making a pair of Patriot League Tournaments, including winning the 2022 league title as freshmen … The Mids are 6-1-3 all-time when A.J. Schuetz records a point, while Navy has tallied a 5-1-3 mark when Andrew Schug scores … Navy is also 2-1-1 when Wyatt Stevens nets a goal … With Will Cawlfield's tally against William & Mary, Navy needs one other rookie to register a goal to have multiple freshmen score in a season for the first time since the fall 2020/spring 2021 campaign, when both David Jackson and Baba Kallie scored as plebes … Only two non-senior goalkeepers have started a game in net for Navy since 2019: Pierce Holbrook (2022, 2023) and Dylan Carmody (2025).

Ranking the Mids
Andrew Schug's three goals are tied for second in the Patriot League behind Bucknell's Jack Lucas (four goals) and sit 94th nationally … Schug's seven points are tied for third in the league … Robert Eaton's 0.882 save percentage ranks 16th in the nation and second in the Patriot League … Eaton's 0.591 goals against average is first in the league and 27th nationally … Navy is second in the league with 5.11 corner kicks per game (75th nationally) and third with 12.11 shots per game (96th nationally).

Scouting Air Force
The Falcons have tried to recover after losing four of their first five games, as a win over Mercer and a 1-1 draw with the South Dakota School of Mines broke a five-game winless streak … Kicking off its east-coast swing, Air Force was shut out by Penn, 2-0, Saturday evening despite a seven-save effort from Brody Smith … Marcos Goni and Attila Toth share the team lead with two goals apiece, while Oliver Becker paces the Falcons with four assists on the season … Smith has tallied a 0.673 save percentage on 33 saves for Air Force … The Falcons are averaging the fewest fouls per game nationally, tallying just 6.63 fouls per game so far.

Series History
Navy is 3-5-3 in the all-time series with Air Force, with the Falcons holding a three-game unbeaten streak in the series … The Mids have posted a 3-2-1 record against Air Force in Annapolis, with Navy's last win over the Falcons being a 1-0 victory on Sept. 2, 2007 thanks to Travis King's seventh-minute goal … The most recent meeting between the schools took place on Aug. 31, 2018 at the home of Navy Football, with two late goals by Air Force propelling the Falcons to a 2-0 win over the Mids at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
