MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Led by
Natalie Wang's fourth-place showing, the Navy women's triathlon team capped off the regular season with a second-place finish at the Robious Landing Collegiate Cup on Sunday morning at Midlothian, Va.

"This is the team's second podium finish in two weeks at a Collegiate Cup (Navy won the Duquesne Collegiate Cup last weekend), so we are making this a habit and enjoying it," said head coach
Billy Edwards. "We know we need to make some fitness gains between now and regionals, but this shows that our young team is doing the right things in race prep and in execution."

The event featured a sprint-distance format consisting of a 750m swim, a 20km bike and a 5km run.  There were 80 athletes entered into the field and 70 of them completed the full race.

Navy had three of the top-12 and five of the top-18 finishers to total 328 points on the day.  Wingate won the 14-team race with a score of 336 points while Lenoir-Rhyne and East Tennessee State tied for third place with 301 points.

Wang posted a time of 57:11.88 in her fourth-place effort.  She finished only 16 seconds behind the third-place time of 56:55.81 recorded by Delaware State's Rebecca Jansen and just over a minute in back of event-winner Regina Michel Camacho from Queens University (56:07.82).  Wingate's Irmak Sereflioglu finished in second place (56:13.17).

Madelyn Berry finished less than 40 seconds after her with a time of 57:58.92 to place ninth and fellow Mid
Dylan Cashin recorded a time of 58:31.30 to place 12
th.  Rounding out the team's top-five scorers were
Keira Wilkinson, who finished in 14th place at 59:04.74, and
Allison Miller, who placed 18th with an effort of 59:22.37.

MC Kistler in 29th place (1:03:18.28),
Leah Norton in 31
st place (1:04:24.50) and
Ella Sims in 43
rd place (1:09:40.40).

Navy will shift its focus to postseason competition when it competes at the NCAA East Regional Qualifier on Oct. 25 at Troutman, N.C.
