BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Navy wrestling team (4-4) earned its first road victory of the season Friday night, defeating Bloomsburg (9-13), 31-10, in Bloomsburg, Pa. Â

"Today we allowed some other wrestlers to represent our program and they delivered," Navy head coach
Cary Kolat said. "
Daniel Williams looked dominant again in his return to the mat. Overall, I'm really pleased with how this group competed and came together as a team."

Nick Treaster opened the night with a strong performance at 125 pounds, blanking Jace Schafer, 5-0. After a scoreless first period, Treaster scored a reversal late in the second stanza and added a takedown in the final 15 seconds to give the team an early 3-0 lead.

The Huskies briefly took the lead at 133 pounds as Gavin Mundy earned a 16-6 major decision over
Hunter Heflin.

Navy regained the lead at 141 as
Nicholas Vafiadis pinned Richie Woods at 6:22. Vafiadis scored an early takedown and turned Woods to his back in the third period before securing the fall.

Frank Antonelli followed with a 6-3 decision at 149 pounds. Antonelli scored a body-lock takedown in the opening minute and added two near-fall points in the second period before holding off a late rally from Dustin Elliot, who scored a reversal and pressed for a takedown in the third.

At 157 pounds,
Cooper Rathburn delivered a dominant showing, earning a 15-2 major decision over Bubba Ashley. Rathburn recorded three takedowns and four near-fall points while accumulating nearly two minutes of riding time to push Navy's lead to 16-4.

Dylan Elmore, ranked 30th at 165 pounds, continued the momentum, rolling to a 14-2 major decision against Braidon Woodward. Elmore tallied four takedowns and more than three minutes of riding time in the bout.

At 174 pounds, Bloomsburg's Eric Alderfer posted a 2-1 decision over
Davis Park.

Daniel Williams secured the dual victory at 184 pounds in his first match since the Navy Classic on Nov. 2, recording a 16-0 technical fall over Gavin Hannah in the first period. Williams scored a takedown and three four-point near falls to clinch the match for the Mids.

Navy added bonus points at 197 as
Payton Thomas quickly handled Wyatt Bush with a pin at 1:10, extending the lead to 31-7.

Bloomsburg closed the night with a decision at heavyweight.
