#8 Rifle Set for Weekend Matches at The Citadel

Competition is slated for Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 a.m. at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The #8 Navy rifle team (9-4) will travel to Charleston, S.C. for a full weekend competition against The Citadel (7-7) on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14-15 at the Inouye Marksmanship Center. Competition on each morning begins at 9:00 a.m. and live results will be available.
 
National Standings
Navy enters the weekend eighth in the standings with an NCAA qualifying score of 4730.33. The Citadel mixed rifle team is 22nd with a tally of 4591.00, while Bulldogs' women's squad is four spots back in 26th with a score of 4448.67. Heading into the weekend, Navy holds the eighth and final spot that is needed to qualify for the NCAA Championship just ahead of Memphis who has an average score 4728.67. Kentucky ranks first in the overall team standings with a 4756.00 qualifying score.
 
Scouting the Midshipmen
Through eight matches, freshman Tyler Wee leads the team in all three disciplines. The rookie, who has posted two perfect 600s in air rifle this season, leads the way with an 1188.1 average in aggregate thanks to a team-best 589.6 in smallbore and a 598.5 in air rifle.
 
Senior Parker Haydin is one spot back of T. Wee in smallbore and aggregate, while coming in third on the team in air rifle. Haydin boasts an aggregate average of 1184.4. He has a smallbore tally of 588.4, while notching an average of 596.0 in air rifle.
 
Junior Isabella Baldwin, who earned the Josh Watson Memorial Trophy for being the Midshipmen's top finisher at the Star Match, is second in air rifle, while ranking third on the squad in smallbore and aggregate averages. She has a 586.0 in smallbore, while notching a 596.8 in air rifle for a combined average of 1182.8 in aggregate.
 
Junior Ryan Wee is fourth on the team in smallbore and aggregate shooting. The older Wee brother is fourth in smallbore with an average score of 579.6, while coming in fourth on the team in aggregate scoring with an 1164.3. R. Wee has an average of 584.6 in air rifle.
 
Senior team captain Catherine Dely is in the top five for air rifle and aggregate. Dely is fourth in air rifle with a 590.4, while coming in fifth in aggregate with a score of 1163.0, and just outside of the top five in smallbore with a 572.6.
 
Junior Chelsie Glover is fifth in smallbore with an average tally of 576.1, while ranking sixth among Midshipmen shooters in aggregate (1162.9) and seventh in air rifle (586.8).
 
Seniors Grace Shepard and Devin Uhrich follow for the Mids. Shepard is fifth in air rifle with a 587.8, while adding totals of 570.4 and 1158.1 in smallbore and aggregate, respectively. Uhrich is just outside of the top five in each category with averages of 571.6 (smallbore), 586.9 (air rifle), and 1158.5 (aggregate).
 
Freshmen Preston Everette (573.0 SB; 579.3 AR; 1152.3 Agg), Audrey Hart (551.3 SB; 582.5 AR; 1133.8 Agg.), and Bennett Hilgenberg (536.2 SB; 557.5 AR; 1093.7 Agg.), along with junior John Dely (544.5 SB; 559.5 AR; 1104.0 Agg.) round out the scoring for the Midshipmen.
 
Scouting the Opposition
The Citadel enters the weekend on the heels of competition at the Southern Conference Championships.
 
The Citadel's mixed rifle and women's teams concluded the 2026 Southern Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon. The mixed rifle team scored 4539, while the women's team finished with 4424. Braden Michalak placed eighth overall with a score of 1165.
 
On the first day of the championships, the mixed rifle team finished with a total score of 2221, and the women's team scored 2175 in the smallbore. Michalak achieved the top score for the Bulldogs with 576 points. Ella Derrick scored 567 to lead the women's team.
 
On the second day, the mixed rifle team posted a total score of 2317, and the women's team finished with 2249. Michalak finished ninth in the air rifle standings with a score of 589, and Derrick finished with 583.
 
Last Time Out – at Army (Feb. 7, 2026 – Star Match)
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The #8 Navy rifle team posted 5904-5839 victory against #16 Army in the annual Star Match, which is part of the overall Army-Navy Star Series, presented by USAA, at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center in West Point, N.Y. The win gave the Midshipmen their fifth straight Star win and the seventh in the last eight Star matches.
 
The Midshipmen claimed the top three performances with six Navy shooters finishing in the top 10 in on the day. Isabella Baldwin, who led all scorers, earned the Josh Watson Memorial Trophy for being the Midshipmen's top finisher. It was the second consecutive time the junior claimed the honor.
 
Scoring for the Star Match featured eight starters for each team in smallbore and air rifle with the top-five scores counting toward each team's final score. The NCAA scoring model of starting five shooters in each event with the top-four scores counting was still used for NCAA Championship qualification purposes.
 
The Mids tallied 2933 in smallbore and 2971 for its 5904 points in Army-Navy scoring. In addition, the Midshipmen topped the Black Knights in the NCAA scoring format, 4733-4674. The 4733 was the second-best score in program history. The Mids' NCAA smallbore score of 2354 tied for second-best in the record book, while the air rifle score of 2379 was one point shy of cracking the Mids' top 10 in the discipline.
 
Baldwin led all shooters on the day with an aggregate score of 1189. The score matched her career-best performance and tied for the fifth-best in program history. The junior started the day with a score of 591 in smallbore, but elevated her aggregate total with a 598 in air rifle.
 
Parker Haydin and Tyler Wee followed Baldwin with scores of 1187 to claim the next two spots on the podium. Haydin led all shooters in smallbore with a score of 592, adding a 595 in air rifle for his 1187. The score was the best of the season for Haydin. T. Wee carded an opening round score of 590 in smallbore. The freshman upped his tally in air rifle with a 597 for an aggregate score of 1187.
 
Devin Uhrich followed with a career-high score of 1171. The senior matched a personal best in smallbore with a 579 before matching his career-high in air rifle with a 592.
 
Navy's next five shooters all finished in the 1160s. Preston Everette posted a score of 1169, which topped his previous high (1157) by 12 points. He set new single-season marks with a 586 in smallbore and a 583 in air rifle. Chelsie Glover continued her successful junior season with a new career-high 1167. She topped her previous best score in smallbore with a 581, while adding a 586 in air rifle. Grace Shepard and Catherine Dely followed with an 1164 and 1163, respectively. Shepard tied her career-best in aggregate thanks to a 575 in smallbore and 589 in air rifle. C. Dely, the team captain, used scores of 574 (SB) and 589 (AR) to help secure her fourth Star. Ryan Wee notched scores of 577 in smallbore and 584 in air rifle to give the junior an aggregate total of 1161.
 
Audrey Hart (569 SB; 580 AR; 1149 Agg.), Bennett Hilgenberg (550 SB; 576 AR; 1126 Agg.), and John Dely (545 SB; 565 AR; 1110 Agg.) rounded out the scoring for the Midshipmen. Hart tied a career high in aggregate scoring thanks to a new season best in smallbore, while Hilgenberg notched new personal bests in smallbore and aggregate. J. Dely set new season bests in all three disciplines.
