DANBURY, Conn. - The standout junior campaign for
Brian Solomon continues as he was selected as the ECAC Gymnast of the Week for the week ending on February 22. Solomon was recognized for his efforts representing Navy and the ECAC at the 2026 Winter Cup competition.
Suiting up as one of 40 gymnasts from across the nation and the only one from the ECAC, Solomon competed in the all-around and posted a score of 73.85 that ranked 17th overall (14th among collegiate-only gymnasts). He posted a new season-high mark on the floor exercise with a score of 13.5 and ranked ninth in the standings; seventh among his collegiate counterparts. Additionally, Solomon turned in top-20 results on the pommel horse with a 12.35-point score that placed him 18th (11th for college-only) and on the parallel bars with a 12.85-point effort that ranked 19th overall (13th for college-only). He rounded out his day in Louisville with scores of 13.25 on the vault, 11.35 on the rings and 10.55 on the high bar.
This was the second straight year that Solomon qualified for and competed at the Winter Cup as he placed 19th in 2025 with a final score of 72.0.
Overall, this is the fourth career ECAC Gymnast of the Week honor for Solomon and third of 2026 as he previously garnered the accolade on January 13 and January 20 of this season. His first career honor came on January 21, 2025. As a program, this is the fifth ECAC weekly award for 2026 ...

The Navy men's gymnastics team will be back in action this Saturday afternoon with a tri-meet contest versus the University of Illinois and Greenville University in Champagne starting at 1 p.m. (ET) in the Illini's Huff Hall.
