Naval Academy Athletics

Vehicle access to the United States Naval Academy is restricted to those vehicles driven by someone with a Department of Defense identification card. All other visitors -- including fans attending sporting events -- will need to park outside of the USNA grounds and enter the Academy through the visitors entrance located at Gate One (located at the corner of King George St. and Randall St. in downtown Annapolis; for GPS purposes use 52 King George St., Annapolis, MD, 21402), or through Gate Eight (located at the intersection off of Route 450 / [Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.] and Bowyer Rd.).  Shuttle bus service from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is offered for select sports. 

Personal Identification
Whether a visitor rides the shuttle bus to the USNA or walks through Gate One / Eight, those ages 18 and over must have a government issued photo identification card, such as a driver's license. Visitors ages 17 and under who do not have a valid photo ID must be accompanied by an adult.   A valid driver's license (see below), state identification card or U.S. Passport is required for visitors to gain access to the U.S. Naval Academy. This includes fans attending Navy sporting events being held on The Yard. Please click HERE to access the complete list of acceptable documents required to gain entrance to the United States Naval Academy.  Visitors ages 17 and younger who do not have a valid picture ID must be escorted by an adult.

**Starting May 7, 2025, in accordance with The Real ID Act of 2005, visitors entering through the Pedestrian Gate 1 Visitor Control Center should be prepared to present a REAL ID-compliant driver's license, U.S. Passport, enhanced state-issued ID, or another acceptable form of identification, to access federal facilities.  Foreign passports are NOT permitted for general access.  This does NOT affect credentialed personnel with accepted DoD identifications.  https://www.dhs.gov/real-id/about-real-id **

Gate One Pedestrian Entrance
The pedestrian entrance is located at the corner of King George St. and Randall St in downtown Annapolis (for GPS purposes, use 52 King George St., Annapolis, MD, 21402).  Click HERE for additional information on accessing the USNA.

Sports Supported by Shuttle Buses
The ONLY sports contested on the USNA grounds that are supported by a shuttle bus during their regular season are:
** Basketball
** Soccer
** Track & Field
** Volleyball
** Wrestling

Shuttle Bus Location
The primary pick-up and drop-off point for the USNA shuttle bus is the blue side (west) parking lot at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, in front of the Blue Angel plane. The parking lot entrance is located off of Taylor Avenue on the south side of the stadium (550 Taylor Ave., Annapolis, MD, 21401). The shuttle bus will run from this location EXCEPT on days of Navy home football games (2025 Schedule: Aug. 30, Sept. 6, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 25, Nov. 15).  The bus will depart from and return to the Navy Health Clinic (695 Kinkaid Rd., Annapolis, MD, 21402) on days in which the football team has a home game. 

Shuttle Bus Hours
No matter its starting point, shuttle bus service to the USNA begins one hour prior to the start of the first Navy sporting event of the day and runs until one hour past the conclusion of the final Navy sporting event of the day.

Shuttle Bus Cost
The shuttle bus itself is free, but parking at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium costs $10. per vehicle.  There is no fee to park at the Navy Health Clinic and ride the free shuttle.

Rowing Races
There is no shuttle bus service available either prior to or after the conclusion of home rowing races. To access the USNA grounds for a race, fans must park outside of the USNA gates and walk through Gate Eight (located at the intersection off of Route 450 / [Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.] and Bowyer Rd.).  Proceed through the gate to Hubbard Hall for information on the course that will be used for the day's race.

Game Day Tickets
Purchases of tickets on the day of the game for events held on the USNA grounds must be made in cash.

Pets
Only service animals -- no pets -- are permitted on the shuttle bus and at Navy sporting events.
